I still love my job

I can't believe the PBR finals are already here. How can that be? This year has flown by. I'm sorry to everyone who tries to keep up with me that I haven't been very good about writing blogs lately. I have been extremely busy. These past few months have been pretty crazy. I've been telling myself that I just need to get through Finals, and then I will be able to get caught up on everything else. I hope that's the case!

This past year has gone by fast and has been one of the most hectic times of my life. I've had some struggles not only in my personal life, but with my bulls as well. A few that really showed out at the beginning of the year didn't pan out like I'd hoped. It's also getting more expensive to feed cattle and travel down the road. I still had a great year and got to go to quite a few events, but my goal was to have a few more going to the Finals, and the only one who was selected was Cowboy Casanova. I feel extremely lucky and blessed to be taking him though, and even more so to own such a great, consistent bull.

It's my plan between now and January to try to get a few bulls sold and find a few more that I hope will work. I've also got some coming 3-year-olds that I'm going to be getting ready to start entering. I'd like to start focusing more on raising calves and get really serious on competition-age bulls (Futurity and Classics). Cowboy is proving to be a great breeding bull, and I plan on working hard to try and raise the type of bulls that I think will work. I'd like to put a little more effort into my females and create a sustainable breeding program.

I love going to events and also the work that goes into preparing bulls for events. Even though this year was discouraging at times, I still love my job and lifestyle. And I really appreciate the fans who are always encouraging me. The PBR has the greatest fans in the world!
