A couple of
weeks ago at the PBR event in Boise, I celebrated my retirement
from bull riding. We had a wonderful get-together with friends and
family on Friday night at our cousin's house near Boise, and the
PBR presented me with a beautiful plaque during the
Saturday performance. I was very moved when the crowd gave me a
standing ovation. Words can never express how much it means to have
friends like the ones that I have. I will never
forget the people that have supported me throughout my
career.
It's hard to believe that riding bulls became my career. I rode
bulls because it made me feel alive. I loved the challenge of it. I
just kept riding because that was my passion, and what started as
my dream soon became my career. There were a lot of highs
and lows, but I am glad that I took the risk and entered my
first PBR Touring Pro in Poplar Bluffs, Mo. I have
learned not to sit on the porch and dream about climbing
mountains. Life is a non-stop adventure and I am looking forward to
the next mountain to climb. I hope you will do the same.
Sincerely,
Wiley Petersen
