Chris Shivers leads, but with only one round in the books so far, the Ariat Invitational is still anyone's game.
Event Leaders:
Chris Shivers on 23S Stretch Armstrong:
Shivers has ridden this bull in two of their three previous
meetings, the most recent of which was last week in Portland, Ore.,
where Shivers was 87.75 points.
Paulo Lima on 205 Big Jim:
Big Jim hasn't been on tour since Columbus, Ohio, last October,
but Lima had him a month prior to that in Wichita, Kan., and bucked
off. Overall, Big Jim has only been ridden by left-handed
riders.
Aaron Roy on 67 Toy Soldier:
They met in Tulsa, Okla., last year, and Roy came down at 7.3
seconds. Although Toy Soldier threw Sean
Willingham off last night, his odds of getting ridden are
better than any bull at this event. When he is ridden, he delivers
an average score of 88.5 points.
Luke Snyder on W233 Charlie Bullware:
Charlie Bullware is well-known for being a difficult bull to ride,
and while he's thrown Snyder off twice before, Luke rode him with
ease last weekend in Portland.
Ryan Dirteater on 602 Wild Child:
Dirteater was 88.25 points on Wild Child in Anaheim, Calif., just
a couple of weeks ago.
Dirteater was 88.25 points on Wild Child in
Anaheim, Calif., just a couple of weeks ago.
Ty Pozzobon on 40B Johnny B Good:
Cord McCoy was 85.5 points on this bull last
night, and Billy Robinson was 86.5 points on him last week in
Portland.
Dusty Ephrom on 703 Let 'er Rip:
This bull has been ridden only four times in 21 outs, and Ephrom
is responsible for two of those rides. He rode him in April and
October of last season.
L.J. Jenkins on 48U Rockie Smooth:
Jenkins not only rode this bull last week in Portland for 87.75
points, but he is the only man to have earned any kind of score on
Rockie Smooth in 12 attempts.
Douglas Ferreira on 713 Grey Ghost:
Grey Ghost has been ridden five of 13 times overall, and three of
seven times at the Built Ford Tough Series level. Ferreira is one
of four riders at this level who failed to get a score. He came
down in 3.34 seconds in Billings, Mont., last August.

The venerable Charlie Bullware matches up with world No. 3 Luke Snyder this afternoon, a pairing Snyder won last week in Portland, Ore.
Cord McCoy on TD2 Bucking Machine:
This is an exciting bull to watch, and can deliver a big score.
He's been ridden in only one-fourth of his outings.
Josh Faircloth on 717 Hannibal:
In 14 outs, Hannibal has been ridden only three times, all three
times by left-handed riders.
Marco Eguche on 857 Sue:
Justin Koon was 84 on him last night, but this bull doesn't get
ridden very often. Koon's score was only the fifth score he's
allowed in 33 career outs.
Jordan Hupp on 797 Express:
Look for Hupp to get another score here. Express has been ridden
three of six times at this level, and by the only three
right-handed riders to face him.
Kody Lostroh on U33 Don't Stray:
Unridden in only 3 outs, Don't Stray threw Ryan McConnel off last
night.
Justin Koon on 723 Panther:
Good pick for Koon. This bull has been ridden more often by
right-handed riders.
Kudos to Nic Lica for making it to this
level, realizing what he needs to win and reaching for
it.
Silvano Alves on 01T Loose Cannon:
Loose Cannon stuck Caleb Sanderson with a
no-score in Round 1, and right-handed riders are 0-for-7 on him
overall.
Dustin Elliott on 38 Keeping it Real:
They met at a Touring Pro Event in Asheville, N.C., last June,
where Elliott came down in 3.21 seconds. This bull is likely to
spin away from Elliott's hand, but Elliott rides with solid form
and can deal with bulls spinning either way.
Mike Lee on 6434 MontanaCanvas.com:
This is a decent bull who is ridden more than half the time by
top-tier riders, but in the past two weeks, he's been ridden for
under 85 points, which is not going to place in this round.
Nic Lica on K41 Wild N Out:
This is a bold pick for a guy making his Built Ford Tough Series
debut, and it raises the question: Why didn't anyone above Lica
pick this bull? He's arguably the highest scoring bull in the
round, and is not unrideable at all. Jordan Hupp was only 85.75 on
him last week, but even with that score included, this bull
delivers an average score of 88.8 points. Kudos to Lica for making
it to this level, realizing what he needs to win and reaching for
it.
JoryMarkiss on 481 Marmaduke:
Markiss bucked off this bull in Greeley, Colo., last June.
Marmaduke looks like a bull that most guys at this level should
ride, especially left-handed riders, but he has proven to be more
difficult than he looks.
