PUEBLO, Colo. ― The Ty Murray Invitational will boast even more
star power this year thanks to the Back Seat Buckers draft being
held the same weekend in late March at the Sandia Resort and
Casino, the PBR's host hotel.
Last season's BSB members included some superstar athletes, such
as Bear Pascoe of the New York Giants. Pascoe is more than an NFL
tight end, he's also an ABBI stock contractor who will once again
be participating in the turnkey bull ownership program offered by
Back Seat Buckers.
Pascoe was already a fan of the PBR and had friends like Ross
Coleman in the industry. Growing up as a team roper, it
seemed natural for Pascoe to want to even get more involved with
the Western lifestyle. He announced his participation with Back
Seat Buckers at last year's Madison Square Garden event and has
been involved ever since.
The only thing they all have in common is that they love watching the PBR and want to experience the thrill of owning a bull that could win as much as a quarter million dollars."
In 2012 Pascoe and the New York Giants won the Super Bowl.
Although they didn't have a repeat trip in 2013, Pascoe is hoping
for another title in 2013 ― although this title would have to come
from picking the right bull at the BSB auction in Albuquerque. And
as for hardware, having the top bull would earn him a gold buckle
to go along with his gold ring.
Although Pascoe plays football for a living, he knows what makes a
good bucking bull athlete and it will be interesting to see which
bull he selects this season. Last year's choice, The G
Man, placed 10th in Springfield, Mo., and in top 13 at the
three other regular season Back Seat Buckers events.
Pascoe's passion for bucking bulls must be contagious because the
Giants' David Carr is also on board for 2013 as Pascoe's partner.
Carr is a quarterback and teammate of Pascoe's. Both men also
played college ball at Fresno State, although not at the same time.
They are now hoping to earn a title together off the
gridiron.
"Back Seat Buckers is for anyone who wants to become a stock
contractor," BSB Manager Alyssa Parga said. "We have members from
all walks of life. Some own bulls individually while others own
bulls with their families, friends and even co-workers. The only
thing they all have in common is that they love watching the PBR
and want to experience the thrill of owning a bull that could win
as much as a quarter million dollars."
With chute access when their bull bucks, top-notch tickets to
select BFTS events and the chance to see their bulls buck in huge
arenas, Back Seat Buckers owners get to experience the ultimate VIP
treatment for any fan.

"A passion for bucking bulls can really unite people ― and that is
true for celebrities and school teachers alike," Parga said. "We
have stars that own bulls, but anyone can buy a spot in Back Seat
Buckers. You never know who could have the next young superstar
bull like Gary Long did last year with Long Shot 2
-and that is what I think makes our program so great."
Ask any bull fan and they will tell you the "King of the Cowboys"
will be in New Mexico next month as the rookie BSB bulls line up to
be drafted for a shot at being the next star. Bloodlines and videos
of BSB bulls will be studied and analyzed. The new owners will be
ready to assume their roles as Stock Contractors when March 23
rolls around, and will watch their young animal athletes develop
over the course of the season.
