AMERICANA, Brazil - With an 88-point effort on Bem Bolado in Round 2 Friday at the PBR Brahma Super Bull Finals, Magno Alves closed the gap on leader Edevaldo Ferreira in the PBR Brazil season standings.
Alves now sits 2,274.00 points behind Ferreira, who
bucked off his bull in Round 2, with two days of competition
remaining. A possible 3,100 points remain on the table for
Alves.
Ferreira, who split fourth and fifth with Guilherme
Marchi at the Built Ford Tough World Finals in Las Vegas
last month, will start the new year on the BFTS in New York in
January.
The top ride of Round 2 belonged to Fábio
Eleutério, who covered Blindex for 91
points. Rodrigo Alves, meanwhile, posted the
second-best mark of Round 2 with 90.63 points on Mississipi.
Agnaldo Cardozo, who placed 12th at the World
Finals, finished third in the round with 90.13 points
on Paiquerê.
Rubens Barbosa, the 2011 Built Ford Tough Series
Rookie of the Year, jumped into the event lead with 88.63 points
on Mala Pronta. Barbosa has tallied 180.13
points on two bulls. Marco Eguchi sits at No. 2 in
the event, having posted 179.88 points on two bulls, including an
87.5-point effort on Van Gogh in Round
2.

Reigning World Champion Silvano Alves moved to
fifth in the event average wtih 82 points on
Diamante on Friday. He's totaled 168.25 points on
two bulls.
