NAMPA, Idaho - Riding Dark Shadow for 90 points
in Round 2, followed by Charlie Bullware for 90
points in the Built Ford Tough Championship Round, Luke
Snyder won the Professional Bull Riders event at the Idaho
Center on Sunday.
Snyder, who began the day tied for 12th place, finished with
263.25 points, and earned $38,250 for the win. He originally scored
69 points in Round 2, but was given the option of a re-ride. He
accepted, and on the final ride before the championship round,
reached 8 seconds on Dark Shadow (Wolf Creek Cattle Company). He
finished second in Round 2, and moved up to fourth in the average,
selecting Charlie Bullware (Julio Moreno/Chadwick) in the draft for
the championship round. His 90-point ride won the championship
round, and his finish allowed him to climb from 15th to 11th in the
Built Ford Tough Series standings.
2004 PBR World Champion Mike Lee finished second
in the championship round with 88.5 points on
Curveball (Flying U/Cindy Rosser Bucking Bulls),
and second in the average with 260.75 points. L.J.
Jenkins was the only other rider to cover three bulls,
finishing third in the championship round with 88 points on
Class 6 Kat (Julio Moreno/Chadwick), and third in
the average with 254.75 points.
Harve Stewart, who was the leader heading into
the championship round, finished fourth with 174 points, and
Ryan Dirteater finished fifth with 173.75 points.
Dirteater won Round 2 with 90.75 points, which was the highest
score of the event. Valdiron de Oliveira finished
sixth with 173.5 points, and Silvano Alves
finished seventh with 172.5 points.
Oliveira remains No. 1 in the BFTS standings with 7,442 points,
and increased his lead over defending PBR World Champion Alves to
656 points. Jenkins remains third in the standings with 6,701.25
points, followed by Guilherme Marchi with 6,073
points, and J.B. Mauney with 5,913.25
points.
Oliveira was stepped on after being bucked off by Rockie
Smooth in the championship round. The incident was similar
to one two weeks ago in Uncasville, Conn., where he was face-down
in the dirt after a successful ride, stomped on in the back, and
pile-driven into the arena floor, suffering a fractured eye socket.
Oliveira, who did not compete last weekend, is also competing with
a broken foot suffered four weeks ago at Indianapolis.
Rockie Smooth (D&H Cattle Company) won the Pabst Blue Ribbon
Bull Award as high-marked bull of the event with 45 points out of a
possible 50.
CBS Sports Network will broadcast action from Round 2 and the
Built Ford Tough Championship Round at 10 p.m. ET on Sunday, and at

on Jan. 6-8 with capacity crowds at Madison Square Garden in New
York. The BFTS will make 28 stops in 23 states before the Built
Ford Tough World Finals in Las Vegas on Oct. 24-28. The World
