PUEBLO, Colo. - The Professional Bull Riders Touring Pro Division will have another busy weekend traveling to Louisiana, North Dakota, Oklahoma and Texas.
Hosted by the newest member of the Ring of Honor, the Mike White Invitational will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday at the Burton Coliseum in Lake Charles, La. Tickets start at $10 and are available at www.FrontGateTickets.com and by telephone at (888) 512-7469. Riders scheduled to compete include 2008 PBR Rookie of the Year Reese Cates, Ben Jones, Colby Yates, Matt Bohon, Josh Koschel, Billy Robinson and Clayton Baethge.
The TPD makes its annual stop in Binford, N.D., on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. at the Binford Rodeo Grounds. Tickets begin at $20 and will be available at the gate. The field includes Ryan Dirteater, who is ranked 11th in the Built Ford Tough Series standings, as well as BFTS regulars Dakota Beck, Cody Campbell, Dusty Ephrom, Elliott Jacoby, Skeeter Kingsolver, Robinson and Sean Willingham.
The WinStar World Casino PBR Touring Pro Classic presented by D&H Cattle Company will be on Saturday at 8 p.m. at the historic Hardy Murphy Coliseum in Ardmore, Okla. Six-time PBR Stock Contractor of the Year D&H Cattle Company will host an ABBI Futurity event at 6 p.m., which has free admission. Tickets for the bull riding are $15 in advance and $20 at the door, and can be purchased at Jimmy's Western Ware and www.Stubwire.com. Riders entered include PBR fan favorite and Oklahoma native Cord McCoy, 2009 PBR Rookie of the Year Cody Nance, Harve Stewart, Jones, and Chance Roberts.
The weekend concludes at 2 p.m. on Sunday in Cedar Park, Texas, with the Cedar Park PBR Challenge at the Cedar Park Center. Riders scheduled to compete include two-time PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals event winner Robson Palermo, Nance, Cates, Willingham, Faircloth, Jones, Stewart and Yates.
American Bucking Bull, Inc., awarded more than $525,000 during its American Heritage event at the Lazy E Arena in Guthrie, Okla., on June 15-16, including $86,149 to 173X Hard Twisted (Buck Cattle/D&H Cattle Company) and Jungle Fear (Pillow & Barrett Bucking Bulls) in the Futurity event. ABBI has awarded over $2.7 million at American Heritage events since 2006.
The Touring Pro Division gives riders the opportunity to compete in PBR-sanctioned events while earning money to qualify for the nationally-televised Built Ford Tough Series, which is comprised of the Top 35 bull riders in the world. Every five events on the BFTS, the Top 5 riders (based on money earned) from the TPD are allowed to move into the BFTS.
The BFTS features the world's best and highest-paid bull riders competing against the fiercest bucking bulls on the planet. The TPD allows established veterans and newcomers alike the opportunity to compete against some of the world's best bucking bulls.
The BFTS is televised every week on CBS, CBS Sports Network, NBC, NBC Sports Network, and YouTube. BFTS telecasts are produced for the PBR under a multi-year agreement with David Neal Productions, a Los Angeles-based production company led by 34-time Emmy® Award winner and Peabody Award winner David Neal, who serves as executive producer.
