Gay, Hiatt split victory in Wheeling, Nobles finds success in San Antonio

PUEBLO, Colo. - Gage Gay and Carrson Hiatt both won their first Touring Pro Division event in Wheeling, W.V., on Saturday.

Gay, a young gun from Staley, N.C., set the pace for first place with an 87 point ride in Round 1, sharing the top spot with Matt Triplett while Hiatt tied for ninth. Kansas-native Hiatt put up an 88-point effort to win the short go while Gay finished third with 86 points. With a total of 173 points each, they tied for the win. Gay earned $4,479.50 and Hiatt earned $3,468.

Lane Nobles also claimed his first Touring Pro event win in San Antonio, Texas, on Friday night. After an outstanding 88-point ride, the 21-year-old Texan claimed the win and a $2,845.05 paycheck.

With the Built Ford Tough Series on a break this weekend, the Lucas Oil Touring Pro Division will visit Texarkana, Ark., West Plains, Mo., and Stephenville, Texas.

The Mike White Invitational in Texarkana, Ark. will begin March 29 at 7 p.m. and feature some of the world's top ranked riders, including fan favorites J.B. Mauney and Chase Outlaw. The West Plains event will begin Friday, March 29 and Saturday, March 30 at 7:30 p.m. 2010 PBR World Champion Renato Nunes and 2012 Rookie of the Year Emilio Resende are both scheduled to compete.

The Fourth Annual Texas Farm Bureau Insurance Spring Fling Bull Riding will take place Friday, March 29 and Saturday, March 30 at 7:30 p.m. Included in the draw are top ranked riders Jory Markiss, Fabiano Vieira and Zack Brown.
