PUEBLO, Colo. - Jared Farley claimed his first Touring Pro Division event title of 2013 with his win in Waco, Texas, last Saturday.
Throughout his 10-year career, Farley's grit and determination have earned him several Top 5 finishes, and in Waco, determination yielded success. In Round 1, Farley's 85-point effort put him in fourth place while Lane Nobles from nearby Mount Calm, Texas, finished on top with 87.5 points.
On Saturday, Farley was one of only two riders to make the buzzer on both of his bulls, earning 87 points to come out on top. Farley finished the weekend with 172 points and $4,590 for the weekend while Carrson Hiatt's 86.5-point ride in Round 2 pushed him into second place, trailing Farley by only two points. This second place finish moved Hiatt into the TPD's Top 10 standings. He currently sits in sixth place.
Farley's victory has earned him the opportunity to compete as an alternate at the Built Ford Tough Series' Bass Pro Chute Out Presented by Jack Daniels in Louisville, Ky., on April 13 and 14.
