Round 1 in Oklahoma City is all Tied Up!
Oklahoma City, Okla. (February 12, 2010) - The 2010 Oklahoma City Express Classic started with a bang at the Ford Center tonight, with current #2 in the World Standings J.B. Mauney
(Mooresville, N.C.) and Texas cowboy Pistol Robinson (Burleson, Texas) splitting first and second place. Mauney took on Cross E Bucking Bulls’ Riccochet, while Robinson made the buzzer on Ice T&D, from Rafter HB Cattle Company. Both walked away with 89.25 points and $6,000 in their bank accounts.
There was also a tie for third and fourth place. Oklahoma’s own Ryan McConnel (Colgate, Okla.) impressed local family and friends when he stayed on Superfreak (Jerome Davis Bucking Bulls) and Matt Werries (Jacksonville, Ill.) made the most of his ride on Power Line (Blood Line Bucking Stock, LLC), making the 8 second buzzer. McConnel and Werries received 87.50 points for their rides and each took home $2,500. Colorado cowboy Josh Koschel (Greeley, Colo.) rounded out the top five, pulling in 87.25 points on Lil’ Red Kat (Boyd/Floyd/Hill Bucking Bulls) and walking away $1,200 richer.
Stay tuned tomorrow for all of the Round 2 action, as the Oklahoma City Express continues. Don’t miss Round 2 of the Oklahoma City Express Classic when it airs live on VERSUS tomorrow, Saturday February 13th at 8:00pm ET. Check your local listings for more details.

I'm really tired of the favoritism shown to JB Mauney. I think that the clock man must be on his payroll, because it never fails, JB hits the review button and he gets a score. Oklahoma was probably the most outrageous I've seen yet. Other riders hit the judges review at 7.9 and are given 7.95 ( a no-score) and JB hits it on a 7.8 and gets 8.16 and a 90+ score. How can he even consider himself a #2 bullrider (much less a #1 rider) when he is handed review after review. He hasn't earned the place in my judgement (and I'm sure I'm not the only one). Maybe the clock-man should be sent home for a few events so he can learn how to read the clock again. It's enough for this ling time fan of the PBR to think twice about watching anymore.

February 14, 2010I would love to see the Friday event broadcast, too--I still have an aversion to highlight reels from Tulsa 2008. Speaking of TV schedules, why does The Amazing Race and PBR have to be on at the same time? grrr.... -

February 13, 2010I'm with you wojo62, Versus should be able to show Round 1 on Fridays. I don't really want to see an encore of the previous event. Which I have already seen. Thats where Round 1 should be shown. Makes better sense, don't you think?
GREAT GOING, J.B, Pistol, Ryan. "Git R Done" cowboys. -

February 13, 2010Glad to see that Pistol is back. Maybe we can see highlights from Round One. I noticed Pistol's bull was marked a 44 and J.B.'s bull was marked a 43.25. J.B. must have made a flawless ride to be marked a 46 on the rider score. -

February 13, 2010Well, hallelujah! Way to go Ryan. One of my favorite cowboys covered a bull belonging to two of my favorite NC cowboys--hooray!! Looks like your recent dream, and being at home, helped you cowboy up and git-r-done. YES!
