NEW YORK (March 15, 2010) -

Professional Bull Riders, Inc. (PBR) has been nominated for Professional Sports League of the Year by the 2010 Sports Business Awards presented by Street & Smith's Sports Business Journal and Sports Business Daily. Other nominees in the Professional Sports League category are Major League Baseball, National Basketball Association, and the National Football League.

The 2010 Sports Business Awards recognize excellence and outstanding achievement in the business of sports for the period from January 1, 2009, through February 28, 2010. Professional major and minor leagues whose central offices are located in North America were eligible. This is the first time the PBR has been nominated for this award.

"It's a distinct honor to be recognized by the Sports Business Awards and to be included in such prestigious company," said Sean Gleason, PBR Chief Operating Officer, "it is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the PBR staff and leadership, past and present."

Winners will be announced at an awards gala on Thursday, May 20, in New York.

The nomination follows another unprecedented year of growth for the PBR brand and business. Strategic adjustments in PBR’s approach to market yielded gains in ticket sales, ticket revenue, sponsorship and fan loyalty.

I am very disappointed that the PBR did not make a huge announcement regarding the DirecTV and VS agreement. I had to find out from a co-worker. Looking forward to some posting and wondering how long the terms of this contract will be valid.

Way off the subject here, but it's a question I have been unable to get an answer to for several years.
We've been PBR fan club members for many years. We love going to the finals. But the first year we intended to go, we couldn't find out how to get decent seats. In the end, we found someone who had tickets to good seats but couldn't attend, and bought theirs. The second year we tried again through PBR to get good seats, but couldn't. We bought half-decent seats through a re-seller, and paid through the nose for them. This year we tried again, WAY EARLY, and PBR said "Sorry - youv'e gotta buy your seats from Thomas & Mack." All they ever have is binocular seats.
Can anyone tell me how & when one goes about getting decent finals seats at a decent price?
    THANKS!
Bill McBride (NO relation to Justin - if I was, maybe THAT would be the key!)

"Hmmmm....Just in time for Indy Car Racing.... didn't somebody go there:)"

I was wondering the exact same thing....kinda makes you think twice about Randy's power with
    Versus.

That's great news! The media people are starting to come around to seeing that what we have here is a genuine sport played by genuine athletes. 'Course, most of us have known this for years but the media crowd (with a few exceptions like George Michael) has been slow to catch on. Here in Florida, it ain't a sport if it doesn't involve a ball or a fast car, even though we have some great rodeos and bull ridings.

Joan, I couldn't have said it better myself :)

Congrats PBR! Love 'ya! You are definitely my primary sport of choice--no others even come close in comparison and I mean none!

    DirecTV, Versus agree on contract
After a six-month dispute, the satellite provider and network have come to terms in time for a busy spring programming schedule.
    March 15, 2010
Just in time for the NHL's push to the playoffs as well as the IndyCar racing and cycling season, Versus and DirecTV have settled their six-month dispute.

Versus was back on DirecTV on Monday afternoon on the same tier of programming it had been before the contract ended at midnight Aug. 31.

Hmmmm....Just in time for Indy Car Racing.... didn't somebody go there:)

What a great honor in just a few years to have been so successful in being nominated for this award along with such big sports catagories.

I am sure the great job that Randy Bernard did contributed to this nomination.

Way to go to all the people that have been involved with the growth of the PBR.
