Nunes makes a statement
World Cup fate still cloudy, Brazilian brings crowd to its feet
FRESNO, Calif. (March 20, 2010) - A bizarre day came to a fitting close for Renato Nunes.
The 28-year-old from Brazil has been in the news all week after being left off the World Cup roster. Friday night he made headlines of his own by winning the opening round of the Table Mountain Casino Invitational in Fresno, Calif.
Nunes brought the Save Mart Center crowd to its feet with a 91-point effort on The Juice.
“Before I got on him, one guy came to me and said, ‘He is not very easy. He bucks,’” Nunes recalled. “I got a little scared, but I (did) it.”
Earlier in the day, Brazilian team captain Adriano Moraes talked for 21 minutes in an interview posted on www.pbr.com about reversing course and officially adding Nunes to the Cup roster.
However, PBR officials had yet to hear from the fourth-year captain, and when they contacted him, Moraes told them to leave his team roster “as it is.”
“I am very surprised,” Nunes said. “I don’t know what happened.
“I want to thank very much the PBR and the fans (who) want me. … The American people are supposed to not want me there because I want to ride all my bulls I get on, and they don’t care. … I am very happy about that.”
Whether or not he’s on the team, Nunes continues to make a run at his first world title.
The sixth-year veteran has now competed in all 13 Built Ford Tough Series events in 2010, and has yet to go two consecutive events without qualifying for the short round. He has five Top 10 finishes, three of which are Top 5, including last week’s fifth-place finish in Glendale, Ariz.
He came into this weekend’s two-day event as the fifth-ranked rider in the world, trailing J.B. Mauney in the top spot by only 874 points. After Friday’s win, Nunes made up 191 of those points to cut Mauney’s lead down to 683.
“I’m focused on the world title,” said Nunes. “I hope to (have) the top finish.”
He later added, “Now I want to ride all the bulls I get on regardless of which way they go.”
In all, there were 16 qualified rides Friday night.
Rounding out the Top 5 for the first round were Mike Lee (88.75), Shane Proctor (88.25), Pistol Robinson (87.75) and Aaron Roy (87.5). All three active riders ranked higher than Nunes – Mauney, Austin Meier and Travis Briscoe – bucked off their bulls.
Round 2, which can be seen live on Versus, will feature a rare bull draft for a two-day event.
Saturday’s broadcast will be preceded by a live 30-minute World Cup preview featuring Craig Hummer, Justin McBride and Justin McKee, along with special correspondent Rocket Ismail. Cody Snyder, captain for Team Canada, will be a special guest along with some participating riders.

BullRidingIsArt: Hey, glad to know you're still around and okay! Actually, calling the Team Brazil situation a "soga" seems pretty fitting to me -- a combination of "saga" and "soggy" (alluding to the old phrase that something is "all wet," or incorrect/wrong) :)

March 23, 2010webpbr: I'm impressed that you moticed I was missing...did you miss me? My computer at home crashed (it's fixed) but I've been reading after work just to keep up. Boy, you have been on a 'wild kick' stirring up trouble. Admit it, you love every minute you can irritate someone and the more the merrier.
North Carolina Ladies, can I join your club. I think we have lots in common. N.C. Ladies, I suggest a truce with webpbr. It's been my safe haven..lol. Except I find myself biting holes in my tongur..lol Actually, webpbr..I've learned patience, tolerance, and respect for you in our fighting absence.
Finally, I have enjoyed both arguments on the religion factor and the soga of Adriano/Nunes.
It makes my day reading all the comments from the PBR fan regulars.
One last thing, I wish all the riders safe rides but I must wish my very favorite rider good luck...GO JB!! (this one is just for you web since I know how much you love my cheers) Yes, I know back to our truce..I'll behave now. -

March 22, 2010First off... FlashOBlue- Like you, my list of favorite riders is longer than just the ones that compete in the BFTS.. But I am so glad to see Pistol is one someone else's list as well! He was the first rider we ever met, and got to tal to him a little this weekend and he is a very nice guy and a pretty good rapper haha...
merlot57- I totally agree, he is awsome and would be great on DWTS. Not only does his dance liven up the crowd, but he also is such a nice guy!
As far as the whole "christian riders" thing, I love all the riders and am deffinetly not here to judge any of them. And I have no problem with hunting, but here's a thought.... To be a christian means to be christ-like or to be christ's follower, and when Jesus caught fish he ate them :)
Just my thoughts... -

March 22, 2010webpbr--apology accepted! Shelia -
webpbr
March 22, 2010FlashOBlue - Thank you for the apology, and it is accepted.
A few notes: I was not talking about your guest blog, which is quite good. I was talking about your comments on other guest blogs, the "zonk board" and comments on this site. Also, I don't particularly care for the person that runs that blog. However, it is just my opinion and it is her blog and she can run it however she wants. You have said some negative and sometimes personal things, especially about Kody. According to a select few, mainly your buddy Joan, if you say anything negative, you are mean and nasty. I have been accused of this, so welcome to the club :)
Regarding your comment before about JB possibly winning the title and me being upset. If that happens, I will not be happy, but nor will I be upset. I have played and watched sports all my life. I root for my team, and root against the other team. When my team wins, I brag on them. When my team loses, I eat crow and congratulate the other team. That's sports, which is what bull riding is. It is not even close to the importance of many other things in life. People can take this so personal, as though when their guy loses it is the end of the world. My life will go on with or without any of the riders winning or losing.
I look forward to getting to know you more. I have said several times on here, the more we know each other, the less likely we are going to take every word so personal and it makes for better discussions and debates. I will probably take you up on your offer to email you. -
FlashOBlue
March 22, 2010I hope everyone reads my guest "Blog" on Turn Him Out. It's #14 under February. I do have to apologize to webpbr about posting on a blog. To me, a blog is not a web site like this one is.
Please folks, go read what I said and if you find anything "Nasty" there, post a comment there or here.
I pray, too. I prayed for you and your family. I prayed for this web site to be a place where we can all have fun and talk about how we feel and listed to what othres are saying. I prayed for the PBR, for JB and Kody and Adriano and the World Cup. I prayed for an end to war and suffering.
I'm not here to argue. I've met some very wonderful people here and I cherish the friendships.
So, webpbr, peace and blessings to you and yours. I'd like to get to know you better. You can email me anytime--my address is on my site. Have a great day! I am honestly apologizing, God help me if I'm not. I would like to agree to disagree.
And, again, CONGRATULATIONS TO RENANTO! This thread was for him, not us. It's Renanto's time to celebrate. -

March 22, 2010Cowgirlupdeb - Just about everything that is said, whether on this comment section or not, effects just about everybody. I have been offened by some things said on these comments. However, whether I am offended or not, I would not take the right of that person away from them, just because I am offended. I leave the determination of what is offensive up to the PBR. Otherwise, people couldn't say boo without offending someone else. As long as those that comment stay within what the PBR says, then who are we to tell the commenters otherwise. If someone has a problem with the way the PBR operates the comment section, I would encourage them to contact the PBR and voice those concerns. -

March 22, 2010FlashOBlue - That's a nice website you have and nice paintings and drawings. However, that is not the website I was talking about, and you know it. The website I was talking about is turnhimout.blogspot.com.
I am sure they won't mind the free advertisement. -

March 22, 2010webpbr, I have a Son with Asperger's Syndrome. I'm constantly having to remind him that he lives in a world with other people and that he has to pay attention to how his behavior affects them. He doesn't notice others naturally it has to be learned, like the rest of us learn to read, with repetition and practice.
You stated earlier that you have the right to say what you want when you want, just like how you live your life. You do have that right and that ability, but you also have a choice to think about how what you are saying affects others. It affects me, even though I'm not involved, to read your words. I wish they were kinder. -
webpbr
March 21, 2010FlashOBlue - Or Sheila or whatever. I hope calling me names makes you feel better. Of course, I am not the one that lied on here. I am glad you have helped children, as my family has at different times helped children and the disadvantaged. By the way, I never said you were a bad person. I just stated that you say one thing and do another. I will let your venomus post about me speak to the fact that you certainly are capable of writing negative and nasty things about people, including riders. People can make up their own minds.
Regarding what you think about Kody and other Christian riders in general. I don't recall Kody or any Christian rider praying for them to win. They pray for health, safety and say that we serve a great God. They give praise for God giving them the ablity to ride bulls, because we as Christians owe Him everything. We are who we are because of Him. We simply give Him the recognition and glory He deserves. I know Kody has said that God made him to be a bull rider and he believes that God has a plan for him and that by winning the World Title, that will give him a better platform to spead God's word. Now, has Kody approached you and tried to convert you? Probably not. I would as_sume
when he is talking about a better platform he is talking about the Riding High Ministries, he is talking about opportunities to speak at Christian events, because they would like the World Champion Bull Rider to come talk to them, he is talking about people approaching him because of his outspoken beliefs. So .... read into it what you will, but I have spoken to Kody on several occ!@#ions
and have had some deep conversations and feel that he has a heart for God.
That is all I have to say, I will let our mutual posts speak for themselves. -
sannpow
March 21, 2010WOW - trolls.....loathe..... those are pretty strong words.
If it comes down to equal prayers for both riders and one should not think they are blessed
over the other to win, then it came down to who was the better bull rider and won the
championship.
I applaud Kody for his expression of thanks to God. After winning I'm sure he didn't say
that he thought he was blessed more than others who prayed just as hard to win.
Webpbr brought the truth out. I think he secretly works for the CIA! :) He
seems to always have his facts straight. -

March 21, 2010FlashOBlue: I do like to see people thank God. The moment that they do not give thanks is the moment that I believe it all starts falling apart. God did bless Kody with his talent, and for that he should be thankful. -

March 21, 2010Okay webpbr--I am Shelia Rudesill and my website is www.budrudesill.com so check me out. I have dedicated my life to caring for sick, injured, and abused babies and children. I do not "LIKE" trophy hunters. To me, it is a sin! I do not "LIKE" anyone who thinks God has blessed them to win over other people who have prayed just as hard. None of my comments have been nasty. You are nasty and irritating. If you want to talk to me again please go to The Michelle Kwan Forum! where they kick trolls off! Hope you are happy! You act like a little child and I loathe you.
I hope you cry your eyes out when JB wins a worlld title! -

March 21, 2010Rez...I was totally bummed about the Voodoo Child points too!! My rider line up didn't go so smooth, but I was sure I had a pretty good bull pick! It really hurts not have those extra 450+ points! -
webpbr
March 21, 2010stormcloud - I agree on several fronts. Actually, I don't think my commenting relationship with rez will change. We will agree and disagree, just like family. As far as other friendships I don't think any of mine have changed.
You know, like my comments or not, you know what you are getting. Some funny, some to the point, some controversial. Which is the way I live my life. The most important thing is, this is a comment section. People take it so serious and personal that anything said about their guy, it is time to get the pitch forks out and instead of debating, they are ready to lynch. If you make a comment about a rider, back it up and debate. Expect some rude, funny, sacastic comments. But some want to tell others what they can say. None of us commenting have that right. I also wish that the PBR would change their policy and you could not use several sign on names. However, the most disturbing to to me is, say what you mean and mean what you say. Don't say one thing and go somewhere else (other bull riding sites, Facebook, or anywhere else) and then write nasty things there, then pretend to be sweet here. Fake does not impress me, even if I can't stand your views, be honest about those views. -
reznibd
March 21, 2010But, stormcloud, can we keep the title that we've earned--"As the PBR Turns"? Seriously, I love it and every time I say it or think of it, I laugh out loud! It's about the best thing that I've heard around here. Quick wit, wish I had more of it. It was you, iscoffy, that coined it, right? You're good at Fantasy picks and pretty doggone funny too.
Hey, no one has mentioned the fact that we all got skunked, if we picked Voodoo on the Fantasy site. Bummer. I was counting on those points. I think we should ge the points that our tie-breaker bull scored to make up the difference. I know, "when pigs fly." -
Shawnna
March 21, 2010You make a very good point, Stormcloud. It's like texting, its hard to put it all together with out seeing facial expressions or body language! -
stormcloud
March 21, 2010You know, posting on here is like talking on the phone or writing a letter. Things
don't always come across as you meant them to. It isn't like sitting down face to face
and carrying on a conversation with someone. Things are taken out of context and
misintrepeted, then someone gets their feelings hurt, and here we go. We all have one thing
in common, and that is the love of the sport. We all have favorites and different views
on things, and as adults, we should be able to discuss them and not get bent out of shape
beause someone dosn't see things the way you do. I just hate to see friendships go down the
tube for no reason. -
Shawnna
March 21, 2010I like JB, I think he is a very talented rider. Just kinda in a slump the last few weeks. No doubt tho that he will get it all sorted out and be back! I hope Ross can use his ride on Chicken On A Chain as a confidence builder and continue to put together some good rides! -

March 21, 2010What a last few weeks for JB..I guess what does he call it....His Confidence?? is gone out the window...I don't think I will be sending him any good vibes. March 21, 2010Webpbr..wow..I am going to say I am impressed. You know your details FBI style!! :) -
webpbr
March 21, 2010Rez - Thanks for your response.
FlashOBlue - You have not written on any site and never written anything nasty or negative? Well... someone must have high jacked your identity.
There is a Sheila (won't say last name or which site(s)) and you need to contact her and tell her to stop copying you and your posts and your views. She is 60+ age, lives in North Carolina, she is a writer, JB is her favorite rider, she also really likes Marchi and loves Adriano. She does not like Kody and his Christian views, and hates the fact that he trophy hunts. She wrote a comment that during the finals she was upset that Kody, during his acceptance speech, thanked God and not his spouse, sponsors or his family (by the way, he did, but the interview was cut short by tv). She has a destain for many commenters on the PBR website, especially those that talk about JB. She doesn't like KRC either. She had a sign put together that had JB on it, when she was at Winston-Salem PBR event in February. She had a lengthy blog, of which a person by the name of Joan Simpson left her a comment saying that she was sorry she missed her and she looked for her and did not see the sign. Oh ya, I almost forgot, she mistakenly, while leaving a comment, signed on as FlashOBlue, then changed it back to Sheila.
Now, FlashOBlue, these above things are things that you have said on this site, word for word. You are 65+, a writer (retired nurse), live in NC, love JB, Marchi and Adriano ........ You had an on going conversation with Joan about trying to meet in Winston, never meet and had a sign ...... You don't like Kody, his Christian views, his hunting and you made the comment about the acceptance speech.
So ..... I guess you better get on over there and tell this person to stop pretending to be you and posting like you and acting like you ........ Since you said that you don't write on any other site or say mean and nasty things about riders.
It breaks my heart that I have to write this. -
merlot57
March 21, 2010Hey FlashOBlue, I have a fight for you...where was Ben Jones' name in that long, long, LONG,
list of riders? All that fanatastic dancing and he doesn't even get a mention-shame on you.
I'm actually waiting for Ben Jones to get the phone call from Dancing With the Stars-how about
it all you Ben Jones fans out there?? -

March 21, 2010Shannon K - Yes, I would like to think so--I continue to hold out hope.
On a lighter note, iscoffy, I kind of like that title: "As the PBR Turns." Pretty doggone funny and right on the money! Yes, it's good to lighten up a bit.
Thanks for the explanation, Twiggy. I honestly thought it was something like that, but I was attempting to get a point across and used that situation as an example. I included names, because I know webpbr prefers that we do so and since I was in a heated discussion with him. . . .
I think it's great that many of us have become good friends from these blogs. We're all very "into" our sport of bull riding. I hope that we can all can forgive and move on despite this episode on our newly minted soap opera :)
I am having a good day, by the way. Stormcloud, you'll be glad to know that this too is over.
Peace and blessings - REZ -
FlashOBlue
March 21, 2010TO WEBPBR: P.S. I DO NOT post on other sites, so why are you putting me down? -
FlashOBlue
March 21, 2010TO WEBPBR: you said, "Also, I know for a fact that FlashOBlue has made nasty personal comments about some riders and people commenting, on here, but noting from you about them. Futhermore, I know she has said nasty and personal insults to other riders or other sites. So, I am not sure she needs your protection."
Okay, I was going to stay away from you because all you want is an argument. The above statement is totally untrue! You name one time I've said ANYTHING nasty about you, a rider, or another poster. Perhaps you have me mixed up with another "Flash-something" poster (and I'm sorry if you are not who webpbr is talking about) or with someone else. I love the PBR! My list of favorite riders is probably 30 with Adriano at the top (when he was riding) followed by JB, Guilherme, Sean, McKennon, Pistol, Robson, Renanto, Jody, Harve, Skeeter, Shane, Ryan, Wiley, Brian, Aaron, Ross, Elliott, Mike L, Chris, Luke, Jordan, Pete, Jarrod, Reese, Kasey, Rocky, Zack, Brendon, Cord, and the list goes on! Plus I cheer for good riding even if it's a rider not on my favorites list!
I don't hide. I ignore you! When I read an article and feel like saying something I do. If I want to read other's comments, I skip yours because I know you will say something with someone to start a fight. The only reason I spoke up here (or read what you had to say was b/c I happen to be friends with Joan and Rez. We are NC gals and I'm the newest inductee into the "Mauney Minions."
It actually breaks my heart that I have to write this. -
Twiggy
March 21, 2010Rez: I'm only going to jump in about one thing here. The whole "code" thing really has
nothing to do with code words. Several weeks ago, Sanpow gave Webpbr a wooden spoon with the
words something like "to stir the pot." I'm not exactly sure how it was worded as I only
seen a picture of it. So oscasionally when I post something that I might think will stir
things up, I acknowledge that Webpbr is the master "stirer." (is that even a word)
Back in OK City, as you might remember, several of us regular posters got together for a fan
meet n greet. I got to meet Webpbr, TWTX, Sanpow & spouse, Mikelee04 & spouse and it was
great fun. We all got a few good laughs about the way Webpbr seems to get things stirred up
on occasion so I as_sure you there is nothing that is trying to be said in "code." Just
having a little fun with some great PBR friends. -

March 21, 2010Make that two votes. -
Shannon K
March 21, 2010iscoffy: I don't know...surely there's something worse than a soap opera that we can compare this to. Honestly, bull riding is a great sport, and I love it, but it deserves better than its fans constantly tearing each other into shreds in the comments sections. Surely *we're* better than that! Yes, I realize that the comments sections on other sites are worse -- that's why I don't read or participate in them -- but surely our goal in life is more than to merely not be as cr!@# or vitriolic as someone else? -
iscoffy
March 21, 2010I vote for soap opera. As the PBR Turns. ;) -
webpbr
March 21, 2010reznibd - Did I say anything about me being right or you being wrong? Nope. I have stated my opinion and my view, you have stated your opinion and your view. I stated that we will have to just agree to disagree, once again. So, then you get into the personal attacks of telling me that I dish out plenty. Well, I guess the same could be said about you. You talk about me being nasty, well the same could be said of you. You talk about me attacking, the same could be said of you. In other words, the accusations that you are leveling about me, you have done the same thing, today and other times before.
I do know one thing the people reading all of this have gotten a good show. They are reading all of it, sitting back with their popcorn and cokes. Now, was it a comedy, or drama, or horror, or all of the above? It sure makes for good theater. :)
We have a different view of what the comment section is for. In my view: You can write what you want, when you want, how you want and people have the right to say they don't like what you write. I can write what I want, when I want, how I want and people have the right to say they don't like what I write. However, what people don't have the right to do is to dictate what you, I, or anybody can write. Unless they are employeed by the PBR and they have the power to take comments off. As far as I know, the only rules are, no cussing and you can't knowingly make statements of fact, when in fact those statements are false. Also personal attacks that go beyond a general response. You can make statements that are your opinions, even if they are not facts, as long as they are not too personal. So, there you have it.
Have a good day. -
reznibd
March 21, 2010You're right again, webpbr. Don't you get tired of always being right? Oh wait, you couldn't
be more wrong, because you do not listen to or rather hear what I say, so you continue to castigate me. Fine. I can take anyhting you can dish out, which I've discovered is plenty.
No, I don't get involved in all disputes. I do pick and choose--as I said--for various reasons,
like them or not, but I did explain my position.
How many times have I said that Adriano was "brutally frank" or "doesn't mince words"? Lots,
of times, that's how many. The (my) point that seems to get lost in the fray is that I try to
use non-combatant terms rather than the unsavory terms bantered about on the blogs. Is that too much to ask of or want from others? Apparently so. Okay. You win. Be as nasty as you want to whomever for whatever. There isn't enough time in a day to address each and every attack, even though you would have me to do so for consistency's sake.
I will continue to live in La La Land--hoping, praying and believing that people can blog as if those to whom they're speaking are standing right in front of them. -
merlot57
March 21, 2010Renato has always been one of my favorite riders I guess because of his style he's so much fun
to watch. Every year when I see him at The Finals I always say "Number One next year" I'm sure
the first year or two I said it he didn't understand me but I would always hold my index finger
up to show him I meant number one and he would always get a big grin on his face. Him and Val-
deron would never have many fans show up at their table back then I guess because of the
communication problem, but they were both always extremely nice posing for pictures and now that
his English is getting better, I'm sure he has many more fans stopping by to see him-especially
after this weekend. His ride on Chicken on a Chain is still my favorite ride. GO RENATO!!! -

March 21, 2010Now how did I go and get drug into this and have my name mentioned??????? :) -
webpbr
March 21, 2010By the way, I am not steamed. Also, I am not upset that you are "mad" at me. You did not care about my feelings when Joan questioned my "heart". The difference between what I wrote about Adriano and what Joan wrote to me is, I did not personally attack Joan. As a matter of fact, nothing I said was about Joan. She attacked me personally. Sorry you don't get that. With that said, I am not upset that she attacked me. It is what it is, a comment section and some will get their "feelings" hurt, because they believe everything written is personal. It is when others are attacked that you seem to have a problem.
Are you now questioning Adriano because he says that he judges people? Don't think so. By the way, on another article, jawbreaker has made some ridiculous comments. He is getting hammered, and people are making fun of him. I don't see you going over there and scolding those that have said some joking things to him. I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. That makes both of us consistent.
-
reznibd
March 21, 2010Correction, that would be a "novella." You still seem really steamed and I am sorry for
my part in it, which this time came because I didn't get initially involved. Well, I
explained myself and my position as I am usually prepared to do. I'll agree to, as you say,
"get off your back," even if you find it impossible to reciprocate.
Allow me if you will, the courtesy to try a new tactic, one that I've learned from the "best"
on this blog site--perhaps if all of the fans changed their names to Kody Lostroh the world
would be a perfect place, the sun would always shine, nothing bad could or would be said
because we'd all be Kody Lostroh, the greatest bull rider, the greatest man of faith, one who
never sins or ever makes a mistake, certainly the most wholesome man on tour, the man with a
gift from God.
Do I think such is true about Kody or that he is deserving of such nonsensical talk, of course
not, but nevertheless it's nonsensical remarks like that BS that I just spewed that make other
fans' blood boil. Should I be able to say all of that just because I feel like it or because other blog sites are even mean and nastier--NO--I do not think so. My opinion. How am I doing defending myself? Am I doing it to your satisfaction? If not, I'm certain you'll let me know.
Excuse me, if I care what people say about the bull riders/cowboys, whether or not they need
me to do so. When, in fact, did you begin to speak for them? How do you know what they need
or appreciate? When I stand up for someone or not, I don't do it because they need it or expect it, I do it because it is the right thing to do. Whether or not they are the toughest guys in the
world, they are human beings and as such they, like all of us, have feelings. You do too don't
you? Well, maybe not. Sorry, but I am really mad at you right now. I might not always be
consistent, but I can vouch for you--you are always consistent. -

March 21, 2010Congrats to Renato for doing an excellent job at Table Mountain. He was in my PBR Fantasy Team and would have done really good if they would have bucked Voodoo Child :(
I met Renato at the DIC in Arlington and he is one of the only guys to stop and take a picture with me. But Adriano saw that and he stopped as well LOL. I hope Renato stays on this streak and can go until the Finals without injury. I know the Renato/Adriano drama is for TV but it seems a little more NBC instead of TNT. -
webpbr
March 21, 2010rez - Wow!! I counted the words and you were 3 words short of a novel. lol
Ok, let's see if I can answer in 5000 word or less.
In Joan's case, I wrote about her hero and she didn't like what I wrote. Nothing nasty, didn't call him names, but because it wasn't glowing, she attacks me personally. That is her MO. I'm a big boy and I can take it as well as dish it. Some can only dish, because everything is personal to them. So, instead of apoligizing, they hide for a while, then start writing as though nothing happened. These guys (riders, announcers, coaches) are not gods (notice the small g). Praise them if you want when they do good, hold them accountable when they do bad. These guys are not your children, nor do they need personal protection like some mommy hovering over them so they don't get a bobo. If anyone bothered to listen to the audio podcast with KRC and Adriano, even he says that the comments on here don't bother him. He went on to say that people will judge you and even he himself judges people (talking about the coach for the Brazil World Cup soccer team). So, get off my back and others, because even the "heros" judge other coaches, riders, sports figures, politicians etc...
As far as the "code" words between myself and some others. Plain and simple, if you want to be on the inside jokes, then come inside. Nobody is stopping you or holding you back.
The comment section is not for the weak at heart, or thin skined. This comment section is VERY tame compared to almost any comment section I have seen out there. That includes comment sections on sports, politics, sex, religion and just about every other subject out there. This is America, people have the right to their opinion, but because this is America, expect your opinion to be challenged. If you or your opinion can not hold up to scrutiny, well.... too bad. Don't get on here and make some off the wall, ridiculous comment (Adriano is an innocent pawn in a game of publicity)
and not think you are going to get hammered for that. There have been ridiculous comments about JB and you and JB fans jump on the commenter about that.
In conclusion, there are things that you say or I say or others say that we will disagree with.
That is fine with me. You know what, even when I am personally attacked, I can take it. However, the person that attacks better be prepared to defend their words and actions. That is called an exchange. How nice or not that exchange is, depends on them. We can converse, debate and even argue, but when the person makes it about me and them, then it becomes me against them. "Some" on these comment sections believe that they "should" step in front of a bullet for their riders, because it is that personal for them. Again, these guys are suppose to be the toughest athletes in the world. They don't need mommy's and daddy's protecting them. -

March 21, 2010Okay, webpbr, I do see your point. You are right when you say that you've apologized here before as have I and we've both accepted the other's apology. I'm not loathe to apologize and neither are you. In fact, just yesterday I apologized to muzman, because he misunderstood what I was trying to articulate.
Here's what I would like--in a perfect world--everyone, including myself, to think carefully before they blog post and try really hard to not say things in the heat of a battle that we just might regret once calmed down. In fact, I don't think that a good honest debate includes anything personal about those debatng an issue. Personal, meaning things brought into the debate that probably are not known but if are known shouldn't be part of a blogging debate. I was glad to see that shawnna elaborated on her point. No, she didn't apologize, but at least she made herself clear so that her words about someone else's opinion couldn't be misconstrued.
I accept, webpbr, that you hold me to high standards, which I do you too. I can see why you thought/think I'm being inconsistent in this particular case. You're right, I do pick and chose what I "call out." I have a tendency to overlook those whom "go at it" on a regular basis, which would include you and Joan. When it's me and you, because we "go at it" regularly, we do so respectfully, for the most part, I think, which doesn't always take away the sting, but alleviates it enough to let go and move on. Would I like for you and Joan to apologize about this and move on--you bet.
However, here's where you've made a mistake--don't presume to think that I agree, or even disagree, with a statement(s) merely becaue I target it, or not--case in point, this Adriano/Renato back and forth. Honestly, the whole back and forth got way too deep, so I stepped aside to let it play out. I really believe that it would be a full-time job to try to, as you say, "protect peoples' feelings" on this site. Civilty, often, does not seem to be a priority here, which is sad, because I think it could work.
Now, I don't know about those code words that you use frequently about "spoons" and "shovels," but I can guess, and honestly, sometimes I find those code words a bit unfair as well, because it's like being around a group of people speaking a different language and so you wonder if unkind things are being said about you. I try not to go there with that, but it's hard sometimes, and since we're trying to clear the air, I thought that I'd mention it to you. I've been trying to give you, Twiggy and sannpow the benefit of the doubt, because I don't like it when you presume to know something when you couldn't or don't. I am !@#uming you cracking jokes about yourself, right? Please, I only used Twiggy's and sannpow's names for clarification not to "get into it" with either of them.
I truly don't know about all of this "stuff" between Adriano and Renato. I just know that I'm a good foot soldier and so I go with "the boss," even when I don't like it, because as was told to me by a boss/employer once at a place that I worked hard for over a decade--"If you don't like it, there's the front door." Adriano's the boss--period--and until he's not, sure we can question him to a point, but we must be ready to head for that door, if we go too far. Things are always going to be going on behind the scenes at the PBR that we, as fans, will never know nor need to know, so at some point, enough is enough, because when we keep on, things just get too, too deep, mean and nasty.
I'm not sure that my explanation will satisfy you, but it's from the heart and as thought out as possible early this Sunday morning, when I should be watching Meet the Press about today's healthcare vote, so you see, I do take your feelings and my actions/inactions seriously. I' am sorry if I let you down, webpbr, I don't like doing that to you or anyone else. I really would like all of us "regulars" to be friends, to respect one another, to post in a civil manner and be able to apologize as needed so we can move on. It's hard, really hard, I know, but I do believe that we can all be friends, even in disagreement, if we put our minds to it and consider it a priority.

March 20, 2010rez - I know you want to protect people's feeling, but why certain people? Yesterday, Joan said some nasty personal things to me, including questioning my heart. Where were you? I have defended you several times, but I don't recall when someone, that you tend to agree with, says something nasty about me, or anyone else, you saying abything to them. If you are going to question someone saying something that is questionable, please be consistent. Shawnna was making a joke about the joke of a comment coming from FlashOBlue (by the way shawnna, FlashOBlue is a woman). Also, I have apoligized several times on here, for my comments and when I do, you say thank you: so thank you. However, i don't remember Joan ever apoligizing for riping me or anyone else and making personal attacks. Again, if you are going to call someone out, call those out that you agree with, when they so similiar things.
Also, I know for a fact that FlashOBlue has made nasty personal comments about some riders and people commenting, on here, but noting from you about them. Futhermore, I know she has said nasty and personal insults to other riders or other sites. So, I am not sure she needs your protection. -

March 20, 2010Bullrider2: I completely agree with you.
I believe Adriano left Renato off the team because of a “personality conflict” that began last year in Brazil. Now that Renato is doing so well, and everyone is commenting on how unbelievable it is that he’s not on the team, Adriano will reverse it, claim he did it to make Renato work harder, and Renato will be on the team. There is no conspiracy with the PBR, just Adriano’s “my way or the highway”. Hopefully Renato continues doing well and shows he’s the better man. -

March 20, 2010Figure of speech that is used to sum up how insane I thought the comment was. Do I think the dude is an alcoholic, no. -
reznibd
March 20, 2010Well, remember folks, as you all often remind me when I don't agree with you, that everyone
is entitled to their opinions and just because your opinion differs from mine, it doesn't make
your opinion wrong or vice versa--this in reference to the less-than-savory comments made to
FlashOBlue, most specifically the the one about drinking, which is really uncalled for. Sorry,
but that's my opinion. -

March 20, 2010Sorry, I made an error when I said he swept the event, Ross Coleman won the short go riding Chicken on a Chain. A lot of guys lower in the standings stepped up this week. Congratulations to all of them. It was a very exciting event with all the rides. Love to see everyone ride and let the jusges sort them out. -

March 20, 2010Apparently FlashOBlue has hit the bottle a little too hard today. Just not thinking with a straight mind.
On another note, Renato was amazing! So happy for him!! Also, so very happy to see Ross come alive!!!! -

March 20, 2010webpbr-I think we now know where Jimmy Hoffa is. He is in Brazil pulling the strings on the
World Cup Team. -
Bullrider2
March 20, 2010Congratulations to Renato for his first win of the year and he swept the event! Unfortunately, Adriano will come out of this looking like a genius. He will play the "I just wanted him to try harder and I pushed him to ride to his potential card." Oh well, Renato doesn't have to prove anything to me. He is riding great and he is turning into a major contender for the title and thaat is the most important thing in the big picture. From the articles, I think Renato is encouraged by the support that he has received from the fans, not necessarily the drama surrounding the World Cup. or anything Adriano has said or done. Well, I don't want to take away anymore from his great rides this weekend and win with anymore of my "negativity". Congratulations, Renato! -

March 20, 2010FlashOBlue,
You have to be kidding... why on earth would Adriano Moraes purposely want that kind of publicity. You think he would risk his reputation? Come on! He didn't just p!@# Renato Nunes up without any explination. He talked about a bad attitude and Guilherme Marchi confirmed when that falling out occurred last year in Brazil. He wouldn't do this by embarr!@#ing the guy if was some sort of set-up...that just doesn't even make sense.
KRC -
Twiggy
March 20, 2010Oh please, the PBR wants this kind of controversy going around? Two weeks ago in Kansas City
long before the announcement was made as to who was going on to be on the teams, the rumors
had already been going around that Renato wouldn't be on team Brazil. Adriano is a great
ambas_sador for the PBR and I can't imagine that he would want all this bad publicity.
But I've said it once, and I'll say it again, Adriano is the "Alpha Male" within all of the Brazilians and it's either his way or the highway. Probably not the best attitude to have if
your a coach.
I have to agree with another poster that stated it would be to funny if Renato told him to
"stuff it" if Adriano does come around to asking him to be on the team.....who knows, maybe
he's already told him that......as it was stated he was on the team then an hour later it's
back to he's not on the team. -
FlashOBlue
March 20, 2010In other words the more controversy, the better? Can I a-s-s-ume that some of the more belligerent posters are set-ups? Oh, my gosh! -
FlashOBlue
March 20, 2010Kieth-- Sorry, I didn't get back to this thread until now. There's not a reason in the world that Adriano would leave Renanto off the team except for being told so by the PBR! Adriano is a very smart man. Some higher power had to tell him to pull that stunt--Adriano wouldn't have done it by himself! Do you know him? Does this sound like something he would do? I don't think so. The PBR is pulling out all the stops to make this more exciting than it already is. And, no, Adriano didn't want people to bad-mouth him. He didn't expect that! If he did, he wouldn't have done it! I believe he was pressured into it for pure publicity! -

March 20, 2010not that my opinion amounts to a hill of beans but........

March 20, 2010I have stayed out of these debates, even though I always read them. In the last couple of weeks prior to finding out that Valderon had a fracture in his shoulder, he was named the drama king. However, Adriano has always been THE drama king. I have always admired Adriano for the way he rode bulls and his religious beliefs, but let's face it, he can be talking about anything or for that matter nothing and discuss it with more p!@#ion than my pastor has on Sunday mornings. Adriano has never been shy about his personal feelings on issues. He has always preached the mental aspect of the sport, so really it is no surprise to me that he questions every one else's dedication. He has always came across as the type of guy who believes he is stronger and better than everybody else. Adriano also doubts Marchi's dedication and frequently says he does not ride to his potential. This is Adriano being Adriano, love him or hate him this is nothing new. I just don't understand p!@#ing on Renato for guys that haven't proven they can ride at the BFTS, when Renato is getting better all the time. -
n8vPBRfan
March 20, 2010CONGRATS RENATO! Keep riding and doing the back flips. Hope 2 see u on the World Cup team. You deserve to be part of the team. -
kristizzle07
March 20, 2010I don't know what's going on with Adriano right now, but I don't his "behavior" benefiting the Brazilians in any way. From what I've heard and read, he seems to have a lot of "personal issues" with a lot of the riders which seems to be affecting a lot of people. He should put these personal issues aside and do what's best for his country. This is just my opinion. I'm sure he's more than qualified to be the captain of the Brazil team, but something seems a bit off. Calling PBR NOW a "gossip" show, not placing Renato on the team and his "weird" comments he gave about the whole situation? Hmmm. But, maybe there is a reason for this drama, hopefully one day soon we'll all figure out just what it is.
I'm happy Renato won last night's round. Way to prove that he deserves to be on the World Cup Team! If that's not what Adriano was looking for, then I don't know what more he wants from Renato to prove to him that he deserves to be on that team.
And I agree reznibd, I want JB back! Along with Skeeter! What's going on??? -

March 20, 2010louisiana fan - Okay, my heart will be broken if JB gets skunked this weekend, so I won't even go there. This sport is not for the faint of heart, which I'm beginning to think I am. Gosh, the cowboys are ailing something fierce, Troubie is hurt, Pillow Talk broke his hind leg and sometimes we bloggers can get mighty fiesty, much to much, methinks.
I want my JB back. Focus, dear one, focus. Okay, Mauney's Minions (my description of his die-hard fans), lets get to bombarding JB with good vibes--but of course he must be open to receiving them! -

March 20, 2010Congrats Renato! No one works harder or deserves it more. I'm glad he recognizes that Americans appreciate and applaud excellence, no matter the nationality. More than wanting to see "my" team win, I want to see the best bullrider and bulls get a chance to prove themselves. -
webpbr
March 20, 2010Congrats to Renato!! Seems like he is focused and on a mission. Also, great to see Mike Lee doing so well this season. There is not a nicer, more humble guy out there. He is always the first to volunteer to get on any bull, anytime, anywhere.
On another note, I wonder if Renato, JW, Justin, Ty, KRC, and many others were involved the alleged Adriano publicity stunt. I guess that would be a conspiracy. Since the two people that are floating that "publicity" theory don't believe in conspiracies, then they must mean that Adriano is involved in the publicity stunt alone. Oh what a kidder that Adriano is, he has fooled all of us, including his wife.
Ok, repeat after me ... I will take my rose colored gl!@#es off, I will take my rose colored gl!@#es off etc... -
wojo62
March 20, 2010I really like Renato, he has style and I love his back flips after he wins. If he wins the World Championship that would be great, he is doing so good right now. If Adriana leaves him off the World cup roster then it is his loss (as well as team Brazil's). -
sannpow
March 20, 2010Congratulations to Renato for another 90+ point ride and another round win. Keep rockin' it
Renato! I'm so happy for you!
This is one American thats behind ALL the Brazilians! -
VAfan
March 20, 2010Way to go Renato! Just ride and try not to pay attention to all the talk!
When all this first started, I actually thought Adriano was just blowing smoke or jerkin folks
chains. Now it seems just plain arrogant to me! Perhaps it would pay Adriano to remember that
there is no "I" in "TEAM". Sorry, that's trite but true!
With regard to the PBR Now show being "gossip", how does he know if he doesn't watch? I do
watch, and there has only been one topic that could have been considered gossip, and that was
when JW said the word on the street was that Renato was not on Team Brazil, because he wasn't
a team player! Odd, isn't it...turns out to be true! I am very disappointed to see a great
Champion display himself in such a negative light! I thoroughly enjoy the Brazilian riders and
absolutely wish them nothing but the best! -
Shannon K
March 20, 2010FlashOBlue: I was about to write a comment about that same quote by Renato -- we so seldom get to hear from him, and I'm glad that he feels the American fans are behind him. He's so much fun to watch!
Having said that, I'm not sure why you think it's such "a breath of fresh air" for Americans to want Team Brazil to include its best riders. I think it's just that it's never been an issue before. Prior to this year, Adriano didn't do dumb stuff like leaving his highest-ranked healthy rider off the team (or at least pretending to?). If he'd tried leaving, say, Guilherme off any of the past World Cup teams, I'm pretty sure American fans would have been upset about it... -
louisiana fan
March 20, 2010Congrats to Renato on his win. Congrats also to Chris Shivers on his ride of 87 points.I'm
hoping that J.B. will get a good ride in round two, he needs it so he can make it to the
championship round, if not that'll be two he has missed. -

March 20, 2010Someone Need to get Adriano's mouth taped. He said that JW and Justin's show on RFD TV is just a bunch of gossip. What is he trying to do destroy the PBR now that is so widely watched and up for an award????????? Get a new team coach for Brazil and keep Adriano out of PBR completely. -
jawbreaker222
March 20, 2010I want Nunes to be World Champions in 2010... He got good style, try 110 percents and he's old school who don't wear the Helmet.. A Bullriding Champ like Cody Lostroh,Justin McBride who proven that helmet is not a part of Cowboy creed (Fearless).. It only for youth who are starting junior rodeo. -

March 20, 2010FlashOBlue,
A publicity stunt? Seriously? Why would Adriano purposely want to have some of the things said about him that people are saying? Please make sense of that for me... because no one else has been able to.
KRC -
FlashOBlue
March 20, 2010It was good to hear this from Renanto: “I want to thank very much the PBR and the fans (who) want me. … The American people are supposed to not want me there because I want to ride all my bulls I get on, and they don’t care. … I am very happy about that.”
I think this might be a first--Americans wanting the best of the Brazillian's on the World team! It's like a breath of fresh air for all of us who "adore" the Brazillian riders and of course their captian!
Leaving Renanto off the team seems like a publicity stunt to me. Those of you who fell for it don't know Adriano very well! LOL
