PBR mourns the loss of Giliard Antonio


  • Giliard Antonio passed away Sunday following a fatal blow to the chest at the PBR event in Maringa, Brazil.
  • Antonio was 24 years old and a rising star in PBR Brazil.
  • He had yet to buck off a bull this year.

PUEBLO, Colo. - PBR (Professional Bull Riders) is deeply saddened to share that bull rider Giliard Antonio passed away last night at a PBR event in Maringa, Brazil, due to a fatal blow to the chest following a qualified ride. 

"Giliard was a cowboy at heart who loved the sport of bull riding, and in turn was beloved in his community, by fans, and throughout our sport," said PBR CEO Sean Gleason. "We send our heartfelt condolences to Giliard’s fellow bull riders, his friends, and, most importantly, his family as we mourn a bright light gone out too soon."
