2006 PBR World Champion Bull Mossy Oak Mudslinger will receive the 2017 Brand of Honor, a recognition bestowed upon those animals whose spirit and skill have surpassed even the highest expectations in bull riding, a natural extension of PBR recognizing the two great athletes in every ride. The legendary bull, who passed away in 2012 at age 15, had 94 outs in the PBR, including 93 in the Built Ford Tough Championship Round, with a career average bull score of 45.83 points. The D&H Cattle Co. & Teague Bucking Bulls powerhouse was ridden only 27 times, 15 of those by round-winners, with a career average score of 91.87 points. The highest score on Mossy Oak Mudslinger came in 2001 when Cory McFadden covered him for 95.5 points at the World Finals. The bull’s final out came during Round 6 of the 2006 World Finals when he bucked off Guilherme Marchi in 5.1 seconds. A six-time World Finals qualifier, Mossy Oak Mudslinger finished second in the World Champion Bull title race in 2004 and 2005, when he was also the high-money bull, before winning the title in 2006, and is often credited as a major reason why D&H Cattle Co. was named Stock Contractor of the Year for five years from 2001 to 2005.
