Biography

Born in Pedra Preta, Brazil, Sandro Batista began riding at 8 years old and quickly showed a natural ability that set him apart. Coming from a family rooted in Western sports, he spent his early years training in Brazil before moving to the United States in 2022 to pursue his dream of becoming a world champion. Before stepping into the arena, Batista sharpened his athleticism playing soccer — inspired by fellow Brazilian Neymar Jr.

That same year, he broke through on the U.S. scene, competing for the Carolina Cowboys in the inaugural PBR Teams season before being traded to the Kansas City Outlaws in 2023. By 2024, Batista had become one of the league’s most reliable riders, going 22-for-33 (66.7%), finishing third in the MVP race, and helping Kansas City secure the regular-season title. Inside T-Mobile Arena, he delivered another standout performance, riding DirtyBru for 89.25 points and helping the Outlaws finish third overall.

Batista started the 2025 PBR Teams season hot before injuries sidelined him on and off throughout the year, limiting him to four Teams weekends and one out in Las Vegas. Earlier that season, he was perfect at Florida Freedom Days, showing the same poise and precision that have made him one of the Outlaws’ most dependable scorers.

Grounded and disciplined, Batista is known for his consistency and quiet intensity. Off the dirt, he stays true to his roots with Brazilian barbecue as his favorite meal, listens to country and Eminem, and draws strength from his faith. A devoted family man who closely follows soccer and UFC, Batista lists “Spider-Man” as his favorite movie and looks up to Lane Frost as a role model — a reminder that heroes, whether in the chute or on screen, come from courage and heart.
