Missouri Thunder
Andrew “Primo” Alvidrez was built for the fight. The former powerlifter from Seminole, Texas, has earned a reputation as one of the toughest and most determined cowboys in professional bull riding. After riding his first steer at 8 years old — landing flat on his back but asking to get on again — Alvidrez never stopped chasing eight seconds.
Before he went pro, Alvidrez worked in the oil fields of Odessa, cutting and grooving pipe to fund his bull riding dreams. That same blue-collar grit now fuels him inside the arena, where every ride is a test of faith, focus and endurance.
Since breaking through to the PBR’s elite Unleash The Beast tour in 2020, Alvidrez has become one of the sport’s most respected competitors. His 2023 season marked a career year — two premier-series wins, a Top 10 world finish, and the Lane Frost/Brent Thurman Award for the highest-marked ride of the PBR World Finals (91.5 points on Red Mosquito). As captain of the Missouri Thunder, he’s continued to anchor the team with his relentless drive and trademark intensity.
In 2025, Alvidrez helped lead the Thunder to the PBR Teams Championship Game in Las Vegas. Inside T-Mobile Arena, he marked 90.75 points on Lights Out in Game 12 of the weekend and capped it off with an 87.5-point ride on Sweet Action to earn Day 3 MVP honors on Championship Sunday.
Off the dirt, Alvidrez keeps his discipline sharp with sports-based workouts five days a week. His go-to gas-station stop includes a protein bar, and his favorite post-ride meal is a ribeye with cheese sticks and extra ranch. When he gets a rare weekend off, he’d spend it on the beaches of Tulum, Mexico. He looks up to Jesus as his guiding force and draws motivation from faith, hard work and a fighter’s mentality.
