Rank Rides Only: Top 4 scores from Unleash The Beast 2024

Big rides. BIGGER scores from last year's premier series slate!

By James Youness

FORT WORTH, Texas – That sound you’ve been hearing lately?

It’s the hundreds of thousands of fans around the world anxiously waiting for the 2025 Unleash The Beast season to begin.

It’s the dozens of cowboys gearing up their workouts and practice bull counts knowing the premier series slate is just a mere week away.

It’s the greater Southwest community finishing up their last-minute trip details to make sure they’re watching the tour’s season-opener in Tucson, Arizona, Nov. 15-16 – or better yet, one of the hundreds of folks set to ensure the circuit begins its slate with a BANG inside Tucson Arena come Friday night.

And with PBR introducing the Monster Energy Team Challenge presented by Camping World earlier this week, there’s an extra layer of PBR Camping World Team Series hustling and bustling in the distance, as fans, owners, team members and beyond suddenly have a few more reasons to be staying glued to this year’s UTB contests.

And while we’ve continued to shine some light on some of the summer’s camaraderie-driven standouts, it’s hard not to fully switch gears in getting the individual circuit back on the tracks.

So, knowing there were a handful of RANK rides from last year’s go which stood out a few bucks above the rest, PBR.com is celebrating the Top 4 scores from UTB 2024 as we usher in the quickly approaching campaign!

And if it seems like it becomes a bit of a Cassio Dias show … well, he won the 2024 PBR World Championship for a reason!

4. Cassio Dias x Ricky Vaughn: 92.5 Points
The 2024 PBR World Finals: Unleash The Beast – Championship was pretty much the biggest stage in all of Western sports last year as the premier series invaded Jerry World once again in epic fashion. Putting a celebratory cap on another electric season, Cassio Dias and fellow rookie friends sure knew how to end the slate with fireworks flying despite it being his first time competing at the season-culminating showdown. And yet, somehow his 92.5-pointer aboard Ricky Vaughn wasn’t the highest marked ride of the weekend. Hell, it wasn’t even the rankest from the rookie class!

In context, the score also represents the eventual World Champion’s third-highest mark of his inaugural journey on tour, so it wasn’t his BEST work of art by any means. At the same time, we know every other rider in the building would’ve killed to record such a score inside AT&T Stadium, so the ride still speaks for itself. The biggest layer of context involves the idea that Dias needed the high-flying mark in order to further separate himself from surging cowboy and then No. 2-ranked John Crimber, who finds himself as the only other man included in this list. Having wrecked the following weekend, Dias surely picked up some injuries, but none were large enough to keep him from gritting out his first world title. And while he makes it look like all is well and good, riders, fans and the man himself knows it wasn’t the healthiest out of his career. But he got the job done – Etching himself into the record books after another rank dance with Ricky Vaughn.

3. Cassio Dias x Man Hater: 93.25 Points
Just five weeks after initially besting the most talented bull on tour, Dias opted into a rematch with Man Hater, himself. Which is always an opportunity to earn a great ride score, IF you can survive the coveted 8-second mark atop this beast. An experience not something many riders to this day have on their resume. But the idea of doubling down atop this guy? That’s what stuff dreams are made of. For cowboys other than Dias, that is.

It wasn’t as insane of a score as his 94.75-pointer from the month prior but it was 100% still a flash which garnered several rounds of both celebration and applause. If we had an idea that Dias was becoming a star throughout his first year of action, it was this ride which solidified him as one of the sport’s biggest pillars and he continued to leave his mark on his rookie UTB go.

2. Cassio Dias x Man Hater: 94.75 Points
Epic matchups are regularly littered throughout any given premier series campaign, no doubt. There’s way too much rider talent and bull power for that NOT to be the case, especially heading into 2025. But when the eventual YETI World Champion Bull in Man Hater and 2024 World Champion Cassio Dias teamed up for the first time, fireworks were flying left and right.

Still representing the Brazilian’s second-highest score to this day, there was something extremely special about that night inside Crypto.com Arena – This pairing. Not only had the hottest bull in the industry see his growing buckoff streak snapped, but naturally, it was to the hottest rider on tour. These are the types of scores that not only helped solidify the talent yet another event win but provided the type of momentum and confidence for him to finish his legendary run. Hell, he went on to lead his Kansas City Outlaws to a regular season championship during his second go within the PBR Teams landscape. One of the rankest rides in the past decade, it was merely a benchmark for the man, who went on to post an eye-popping 98.25 points over the summer. There’s something truly special about this combination of athletes and we can’t wait for their next dance!

1. John Crimber x Big Bank: 95 Points
Dias may have captured the PBR Rookie of the Year and 2024 World Championship buckle. But if there was a fellow youngster who gave him a run for his money throughout the season and specifically inside AT&T Stadium, it’s none other than John Crimber. You may know him as this summer’s 2024 PBR Teams MVP or even the 2024 PBR Teams Championship MVP after seeing the trending 19-year-old lead not only his Florida Freedom squad in individual aggregate score, but the entire postseason pack. But before he learned to soar in his rookie 5-on-5 campaign, he had to learn how to fly during his first shot on UTB. And boy, oh boy, did he learn to fly!

Nearly completing his insane come-from-behind run to upset the once runaway Dias in the season-ending premier series standings, the sport’s next big superstar decided his trip aboard Big Bank would be one to remember. Posting a career-high 95 points atop the animal athlete with more than 15,000 fans on-site to take in the final evening of UTB action, the stud flashed his stuff once more. Literally the highest-scored ride amongst thousands of outs all season long, there’s a reason his red, white and blue squad drafted him No. 1 overall just a few weeks later. And after delivering his pair of MVP honors during his rookie campaign, we can’t wait to see what he’s got in store for 2025!
