WORCESTER, Mass. – This weekend in Worcester, Massachusetts, Afonso Quintino (Sao Luis dos Montes Belos, Brazil) rode lights out, going 2-for-3 to win his second consecutive PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour event, victorious at BeatBox PBR Worcester. 

Quintino first put points on the board in Round 1 when he delivered the second-best score, covering King Pin (Dave Martin/Mike Miller Bucking Bulls) for 83 points.

The reserved Brazilian then overtook the event lead when he won Round 2 as Championship Sunday got underway, outlasting South Point Dance Monkey (Painted Pony Championship Rodeo) for 86.5 points.

Despite being bucked off by Cockeye (Mike Miller Bucking Bulls) in 4.2 seconds in the championship round, Quintino’s opening round scores were enough to cement his third Velocity Tour win of the season.

Quintino’s latest golden finish netted him 126 points in the race to be crowned the 2025 Velocity Tour Champion. 

Brandon Chambers (Newport, North Carolina) parlayed a 2-for-3 showing of his own inside DCU Center into a second-place finish. 

After riding Hot Spot (Mike Miller Bucking Bulls) for 63 points in Round 1, he made the requisite 8 atop Concrete Golashes (Dave Martin/Mike Miller Bucking Bulls) for 74.5 points in Round 2. His hopes of victory, however, were dashed by Cash Goblin (Dave Martin/Mike Miller Bucking Bulls) who tossed the North Carolinian in a quick 1.68 seconds in the final round. 

The runner-up result earned Chambers 65 Velocity Global points. 

Third was Bruno Carvalho (Alvares Florence, Brazil), collecting 54 Velocity Global points. His efforts in Massachusetts were headlined by his Round 2-winning, 84.5-point effort on Red Rum (Mike Miller Bucking Bulls).

Round 1 winner Marcus Mast (Middlebury, Indiana) was fourth.

Mast earned 49 Velocity Global points for his 83.5-point ride on Tigger (C-B Bucking Bulls).

Rounding out the Top 5 in fifth was Lucas Fideles Souza (Barnstable, Massachusetts). 

Souza topped Bruno (J Bar W) for 83 points in Round 2, taking home 34 Velocity Global points.

In the bull pen, Cockeye and Best Bet (C-B Bucking Bulls) bucked a cut above the rest, tying for the Bull of the Event honor for their matching 44-point outings in the championship round. Cockeye earned the marks in his trip with Quintino, while Best Bet lit up the scoreboard when he bucked off Souza in 2.57 seconds. 

The PBR Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour next travels to Norfolk, Virginia, and Bridgeport, Connecticut, on Feb. 28-March 1.
