BS Cattle Company’s Bang For Your Buck Sale set to invade Fort Worth Stockyards May 10

Annual yearling sale brings sport’s next wave of talent to Hotel Drover during 2025 PBR World Finals: Unleash The Beast.

By James Youness

FORT WORTH, Texas – As many of the industry’s professionals do, Brandon Stewart of BS Cattle Company wears a lot of hats. Father. Husband. Stock Contractor among them.

But when PBR invades the Fort Worth Stockyards May 8-11, he’ll be adding World Finals bull sale director, or something like that, to his resume.

Not that there’s a formal title associated with Stewart’s role in the sale.

The idea of operating the yearly yearling-based event isn’t new, as this spring’s showing marks the fourth iteration of BS Cattle Company’s Bang For Your Buck Sale.

The Saturday, May 10 showcase inside Hotel Drover, however, across the street from Cowtown Coliseum, home to the weekend’s Eliminations rounds, marks the first time the sale has been associated with the PBR World Finals.

And with tens of thousands of people in town for two weeks of professional bull riding and just about everything else Western lifestyle has to offer, the stage couldn’t be bigger for Stewart and company.

Associated with the likes of Flyin Wired, Mike’s Motive, Yo Momma and friends, the program has been linked with bovine talent welcomed at the season-culminating showdown for years.

An entire sale of the brand’s own, affiliated with the sport’s grandest weekend, on the other hand, will be unchartered territory for the group.

But Stewart’s wife mentioned if they were going to make this thing bigger and better, they had to change something up.

With the sale taking place just 78 miles away from Stephenville, Texas, which serves as headquarters for the brand, they have a pretty good feeling they’ll be well received, given their ties to both the community and UTB circuit.

Not to mention a few bragging points about a few bulls set to strut their stuff throughout the three-stage 2025 PBR World Finals: Unleash The Beast finale, including talents like No. 2 Fast Flow and No. 3 Mike’s Magic.

“Fort Worth is an hour and fifteen minutes from home, so we’re pretty well home having the sale here and I feel like we’ll be able to reach some new clients and different people,” Stewart said.

“Having it at Hotel Drover with the attraction of the Stockyards, the attraction of the PBR World Finals – instead of just coming to a sale, you’ve got a lot of entertainment options. It’s a part of a destination event, something different and unique we can offer our customers.”

Reflecting on how far the company has come since he began hauling and raising bulls a decade ago, Stewart recalled hoping and praying he had one good enough to go to the World Finals his first season on the road when he was 18.

Ten years later, he has two of the Top 3 bulls in this year’s bovine standings.

And come next Saturday, a 50-head showcase just steps away from the biggest showcase in Western sports. All under the brand he’s poured his all into.

“The industry as a whole has evolved. As a kid growing up in the industry, I’ve evolved with it. My cattle company, our brand, the bulls that we produce and the ones that we’re able to take onto the PBR tour has evolved so much,” Stewart said.

“Looking at it ten years later, kind of how we started and where we’re at now, it’s pretty neat to see how things have changed and how we’ve evolved with PBR.”

Naturally, there’s never been a good time to finish second or third in any race.

But in a year which has been dominated by other-worldly performances courtesy of No. 1 Man Hater, Stewart has to feel pretty good about his duo’s respective standout average bull scores, which would have title-contending implications if not for Man Hater’s historic campaign.

Just ask Gene Owen and Jane Clark why they continue to invest in some of the most promising bulls in the business. Because some of them turn out to Man Haters and Mike’s Motives and such.

Enter the chance for fans and fellow sport enthusiasts to get involved in their own bucking bull investments, as Saturday’s sale offers both 100% and 50% interest opportunities.

Folks who are interested in a 50% partnership or varying degrees can leave all of the training, hauling, feeding and trucking to the professionals while maintaining respective stock in some of this year’s available yearlings, thus allowing partners from around the world to enjoy the ride of a share in very own bucking bull.

Shared partnerships start in the five digit range, yet it sounds like the brand is fair and flexible, ultimately wanting people to feel comfortable with the idea the bulls are being sold on potential.

At the same time, an investment represents a bit of a lottery ticket, as these bulls can make a name and buck for themselves rather quickly.

Just as the ever-interested fans and stock contractors alike who are primed to attend the 2025 ABBI Futurity event, set to award $1,000,000 in winnings to two-year-old animal athlete competitors Sunday morning inside Cowtown Coliseum, May 11.

So, in theory, fans could purchase a bull next weekend and see it produce some serious returns, and memories, as soon as the following spring. Talk about a ride.

“PBR is the ultimate stage of bull riding and they have the best bull riders in the industry, there’s no arguing that. To counter the best bull riders in the world, you have to have the best bulls in the world,” Stewart said.

“Not only am I a PBR stock contractor and an ABBI stock contractor who brings bulls to these events – I also have my own herd of cows. We raise these bulls. We hone in on raising the greatest bulls we can in order to buck at this top level of the sport. We have to keep them at pique physical and mental shape and it takes a lot of work on our end to keep them at their top performance level.”

Whether fans are ready to full-on embrace the stock contracting role, interested in learning more about shared partnership opportunities or simply want to witness the auction-styled showcase within the beautiful confines of Hotel Drover, the fourth-ever BS Cattle Company’s Bang For Your Buck Sale is the place to be from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, May 10.

After all, you never know when the net YETI World Champion Bull is right in front of you!
