GRAND FORKS, N.D. – After the opening round of the Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour’s (PWVT) Silencer Shop PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Grand Forks, Marcus Mast (Middlebury, Indiana) sits alone atop the leaderboard.

Giving the nod aboard Sizmagraf (Silver Creek/Sellers/UTC/H5 Bucking Bulls), the grizzled veteran battled through a broken jaw to make the 8 for 87 points.

Mast won 28 Velocity Global points for his round-winning ride.

In second place was Ethan Winckler (Winnie, Texas).

Winckler rumbled out of the gate atop Black Ice (BMC Bucking Bulls/Rafter G Rodeo) for 86.5 points.

The Texan earned 18 Velocity Global points.

Josh Stepp (Hendersonville, North Carolina) finished third.

The Tarheel cowboy stormed out of the chutes atop Gangster Blue (JQH Bucking Bulls – Skip & Elaine Jones) for 86 points.

Stepp garnered 17 Velocity Global points.

Alex Cerqueira (Iguatemi, Brazil) finished fourth.

Tasked with Iron Side (Campbell Cattle Co/Cannon Cattle Co), the Brazilian made the 8 for 84 points.

Cerqueira’s ride netted him 16 Velocity Global points.

Rounding out the Top 5 was a tie between Pokey Houghton (St. George, Utah) and Winckler, courtesy of a double-entry.

Houghton rode Mr. Rizz (WJ & KJ Bucking Bulls) for 83.5 points while Winckler covered LP’s Hitman Harris (TDS/Buentello Bucking Bulls) for 83.5 points.

Both riders gained 14.5 Velocity Global points.

Velocity Global points contribute to the Velocity Global Standings and determine which new riders are added to the elite Unleash The Beast throughout the season. The Top 3 Velocity Global riders who have not already qualified are also invited to the PBR World Finals in May.

Silencer Shop PBR Grand Forks concludes with Round 2 and the championship round tomorrow, Saturday, April 12, at 7 p.m. CT.

While the Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour bucked in Grand Forks, the elite Unleash The Beast bucked in Billings, Montana.
