Women's Rodeo Championships, NBHA announce sidepots at 2025-26 barrel races

Upcoming sidepots offer athletes a chance to compete for added money and secure direct qualifications to the 2026 WRWC.

FORT WORTH, Texas — The Women's Rodeo Championships (WRC), in partnership with the National Barrel Horse Association (NBHA), proudly announces the inclusion of Women’s Rodeo World Championship (WRWC) Sidepots at five prestigious NBHA barrel racing events in 2025 and 2026. These sidepots offer athletes a chance to compete for added money and secure direct qualifications to the 2026 WRWC.

“At NBHA, we are always striving for new ways to elevate opportunities for our members,” said Bailey Nahrgang, Executive Director of NBHA. “Partnering with the Women’s Rodeo World Championship to bring sidepots to our premier events opens new distinct pathways for our riders to excel to the highest of levels of competition. We are proud to continue championing the growth of women's rodeo and can't wait to see our athletes shine on the WRWC stage.”

Participating Events Offering WRWC Sidepots:

Ariat Summer Run Super Show: Perry, Georgia (July 4–6, 2025)
Youth and Teen World Championships: Perry, Georgia (July 19–26, 2025)
The Myrna (WCBRA): Tulare, California (Sept. 25, 2025)
Circle Y Saddles Open/Senior World Championships: Perry, Georgia (Oct. 25–Nov. 1, 2025)
Ariat Asheville Super Show: Fletcher, North Carolina (March 2026)

The highest placing Pro and the highest placing Challenger will receive automatic qualifications, along with up to eight Limited athletes, consisting of the top two highest placing entries in each division (D). To be eligible, NBHA members will have the option to enter the two WRWC packages in SaddleBook.

Additionally, Pro and Challenger athletes who wish to earn points toward the 2025 WRWC Leaderboard must nominate these events through the Virtual Rodeo Qualifier (VRQ). Nominating an event with WRWC means the VRQ Team will track your results for the event. Nominations for the 2026 event are now open.

WRWC Sidepot Entry (with existing WRC ID Card): $100 – WRWC Sidepot Entry only (90% payback)

"The Women's Rodeo World Championship is committed to creating more opportunities for women athletes to compete at the highest level,” said Linsay Rosser-Sumpter, WRC Commissioner. “Partnering with the NBHA to offer WRWC Sidepots at these major events gives our athletes not only the chance to earn added money, but also a direct path to the 2026 WRWC. It's an exciting step forward in expanding access, recognizing talent across divisions, and continuing to grow the future of women’s rodeo."
