Marcus Mast crowned 2025 PBR Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour Champion

Paulo Eduardo Rossetto leads trio of riders who went a perfect 3-for-3 inside American Bank Center Arena in Corpus Christi, Texas, to win the 2025 PBR Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour event title.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Following an electric 31-event, record-setting season, Marcus Mast (Middlebury, Indiana) emerged the supreme competitor, delivering three crucial rides on the final two days of the campaign in Corpus Christi, Texas, to be crowned the 2025 PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour Champion, earning the accompanying $50,000 bonus.

As the event inside American Bank Center Arena got underway, Mast was No. 3 in the Velocity Tour Global standings, trailing No. 1 Afonso Quintino (Sao Luis dos Montes Belos, Brazil) by 125.5 points.

Mast began his come-from-behind surge in Round 1 as he delivered the fourth best score, topping Vigilante (Halpain Bucking Bulls) for 86.25 points, to collect 24 Velocity Global points. The Indiana man’s score, coupled with a 1.21-second slap by Quintino on High Road (Cannon Cattle Co.), led Mast to climb within 101.5 points of the top spot.

As Championship Saturday got underway, Mast’s momentum continued to roll. He punched his ticket to the championship round and climbed to third on the event leaderboard courtesy of an 80.5-point trip on Shakira (Folsom Point Bucking Bulls). Mast’s pathway to the title cleared further as Quintino’s time at the 2025 PBR Velocity Tour Finals, presented by Coastal Bend Chevy Dealers, ended when he was tossed by Cash On Black (Cannon Cattle Co.) in a swift 2 seconds.

Poised on the back of the chutes, Mast then readied to take on Watch Out (Sho-Me Rodeo/Wyloh) in the final round, needing to finish third or better in the event aggregate to win the year-end title. Erupting from the chutes, Mast reached the whistle but was awarded a re-ride after he earned just 64.75 points. In a business decision, Mast elected to keep the score.

With the final two riders bucking off, Mast’s choice proved dividends, enough to earn him the title of 2025 PBR Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour Champion.

When the dust settled, Mast earned the expansion series’ top honor by finishing 12.5 points ahead of No. 2 Quintino.

In addition to the title of Velocity Tour Champion, and a bonus check for $50,000, Mast also earned one of five available berths to the 2025 PBR World Finals: Unleash The Beast. The berth marks Mast’s third career qualification to bull riding’s most prestigious event.

Paulo Eduardo Rossetto (Colorado, Brazil) rode lights out at the “Championship before the Championship,” going a flawless 3-for-3 to win the PBR Velocity Tour Finals event title.

After riding Sizmagraf (Sellers/UTC/Eldred Cattle) for 84.5 points in Round 1, the charismatic Brazilian conquered Sweet John (Cannon Cattle Co.) for 82.25 points in Round 2.

Rossetto then cemented the event victory when he topped Dough Boy (Sellers/UTC/Eldred Cattle) for 86.25 points in the final round.

The golden finish earned Rossetto a check for $26,100 and 255 Velocity Global points. He concluded the 2025 campaign No. 27 in the Velocity Global standings.

Alongside Mast, an additional four riders also punched their ticket to the 2025 PBR World Finals.

Jean Fernandes Pereira (Crixas, Brazil) earned one of the coveted spots as the top finishing rider at the event not already qualified.

Pereira was the final rider to cover all three of his bovine athletes in Corpus Christi, concluding the event second. He made the 8 on Co-Witt (Sho-Me Rodeo/Wyloh) for 81 points in Round 1, Kangaroo Jack (KR Bucking Stock/LTG Bucking Bulls) for 82 points in Round 2 and Born To Raise Hell (CIL Cattle Co. #2) for 80.25 points in the final round.

Quintino and Bob Mitchell (Steelville, Missouri) will compete at the World Finals via their final rank in the Velocity Global standings. Quintino concluded the year No. 2, while Mitchell was No. 3.

Ashton Sahli (Red Deer, Alberta, Canada) will make his World Finals debut after earning the coveted international invite at the year-end event courtesy of his rank in the Velocity Global standings.
