FORT WORTH, Texas — The only way you follow up having Bo Duke drive you onto the dirt in the back of a custom Tesla CyberTruck in year one?
Having a $7 million cowboy by the name of J.B. Mauney and his son Jager drive you out in year two.
With none other than country superstar Parker McCollum riding shotgun.
Which makes sense for any folks paying attention to an Easter egg hint from 2024, as the Michigan native sported a custom J.B. Mauney/Marlboro lookalike shirt as he watched on during last year’s 2024 PBR World Finals: Unleash The Beast – Championship showcase.
Wasting no time getting the party started, the performing professional began his opening set with the fan-favorite “Cowboy.”
Which, as you’d guess, got tens of thousands of fans throughout Jerry World on their feet as the party began being inside the home of the Dallas cowboys – All while knowing the best cowboys in the world are set to invade the very building come Saturday’s Championship.
The night was off to quite the rocking start and only continued when Kid Rock’s 32-year-old co-star kept vibes high with a hit of his own.

Getting each of the evening’s participating squads involved early, rider and horse athletes from each of the six contingents joined the opening festivities taking some welcome laps around the dirt with flags repping their respective teams.
It might not seem like a big change laid out in word text, but the opening emphasis seemed to be more on “get ready to rodeo your ass off and make sure you stick around for the party later tonight,” than the year prior.
Eventually exiting the stage en route to taking a lap of his own with McCollum via horseback, it was clear Western sports were in the building.
If year one set the bar, year two surely raised it, as fans and contestants alike were enjoying themselves early in the evening.
And once the 2024 Bareback World Champion Dean Thompson got Team Convoy off to a hot start courtesy of an 86-point ride, the pack didn’t look back.
While the orange and black unit found themselves competing in the Championship Round later in the contest after earning gold medals in the barrel racing, breakaway roping and tie-down roping, it was Team Jokers who exited the second game-changing showdown with a sincere set of bragging rights.
Alongside nearly $28,000 ($27,778) for each of the team’s athletes.
Knowing the team is coached by Joe Beaver means there was plenty of experience in the team's locker room.
Remembering his partner in Sid Steiner aka “Sid Rock,” has been integral to assembling and mentoring this team in his own right makes it that much more fitting the green guys won it all.

And with the two of them teamed up, a good time was had before, during and 100% after the year two victory was in the books. Even though Steiner was jokingly hesitant to share any pregame team-wide rituals!
Yet, it was Beaver who got the festivities flowing first Friday night.
“That looks like a bunch of winners up there,” Beaver exclaimed loud and proud after entering the postgame press conference a minute or two late.
“We’re getting ready to watch some Kid Rock and have a little after party. We’ll do whatever these guys want to do.”
Double-fisting a pair of beers, it was also clear the party was just getting started.
At the end of the night, only one team went home as official winners.
But as the sport took another collective step forward thanks to a whole bunch of helping hands, it’s hard not to consider each of the event’s teams as victors.
For as much as each of the six teams were competing against each other throughout the evening, it was clear the rodeo industry came together Friday night for the grand cause. With some additional assistance from PBR’s tour personnel, of course!
Both in keeping the show punctual while ensuring everybody was feeling comfortable and where they were supposed to be.
And with several UTB regulars spotted in the crowd throughout the night, it sure felt like PBR and the greater rodeo pack were one in one.
A couple hours and a few outfit changes later, the rock ‘n roll star was back on stage doing his thing, this time with thousands of fans down on the dirt for an up close and personal experience. Singing, playing guitar, drumming, mixing in some piano action, the talent reminded us he can still do it all.
With plenty of memories created, it’s safe to say the second iteration of reimagined rodeo provided an experience that’ll last all summer long.
With PBR set to resume the spotlight Saturday, the premier series is primed to overtake AT&T Stadium May 17-18, with all four rounds of Championship action via the PBR App, RidePass and PBR’s social media channels, as well as The Cowboy Channel.
