#InCaseYouMissedIt: 2025 PBR Teams season kicks off with perfect weekend for the Kansas City Outlaws

Miss a moment of the action this weekend? Here’s what happened around the PBR.

By Harper Lawson

We’re baaaaack! Did you miss the PBR Camping World Team Series? We sure did, and Oklahoma City sure felt it! Wildcatter Days kicked off with a bang as the fireworks flew—some teams showed they’re ready to ride all the way to the top, while others left everything out there in the chutes. From the Outlaws’ perfect run to the MVP race now afoot, we saw a glimpse of what's to come this season. If you missed any of the action, here’s the rundown from the weekend’s wild ride!

On the PBR Team Series...

OKLAHOMA CITY, DAY 1
The 2025 PBR Teams season kicked off in style in Oklahoma City at Wildcatter Days! The Kansas City Outlaws, Florida Freedom, Carolina Cowboys Missouri Thunder and Texas Rattlers all registered wins on opening night. The Oklahoma Wildcatters were stunned at home, falling to the Texas Rattlers by three ride scores.

Clay Guiton and the boys in Carolina blue kicked off the night with a bang, with Guiton delivering an 87-point ride on Dana White’s Playmate, the second rider ever to tame the notorious bull, and setting the stage for a successful opening night for the Carolina Cowboys.

OKLAHOMA CITY, DAY 2
The second day saw five teams ride to victory, including the Kansas City Outlaws, Florida Freedom, Austin Gamblers, Nashville Stampede, and Arizona Ridge Riders. Despite a tough battle, the Oklahoma Wildcatters were still searching for their first win of the weekend. However, the night also marked a triumphant return for Cassio Dias, putting his team in scoring position with his first ride back since his brutal femur break last November, 87.75 points on Dynamite and helping secure the Kansas City Outlaws' victory.

OKLAHOMA CITY, DAY 3
The Kansas City Outlaws capped off the weekend with a perfect 3-0 record, overpowering their instate rivals the Missouri Thunder with key rides from Maikon Calixton Rocha, Sandro Batista and Koltin Hevalow. The Outlaws wrapped up the 2025 PBR Teams season opener undefeated.

The Carolina Cowboys bounced back in a big way after a tough Saturday, where they saw two key performers buck off, and Adriano Salgado was taken to the hospital for further evaluation. Despite the setbacks, Carolina came roaring back on Sunday, securing an impressive 263-84.75 victory against the Florida Freedom. Cooper Davis, Alisson de Souza and Daylon Swearingen led the charge, lifting Carolina to a 2-1 record. Though Salgado and Guiton did not ride on night 3, both were seen in good spirits and back on their feet, showing resilience and readiness for the rest of the season.

Although the Outlaws are off to a perfect start, Aussie Brady Fielder has made a strong leap from down under to the top of the MVP leaderboard, with Kansas City Outlaws’ Koltin Hevalow and Maikon Calixton Rocha hot on his heels.

At Heroes & Legends...
The 2025 PBR Heroes & Legends ceremony honored the sport’s trailblazers, two-time PBR World Champion and Oklahoma Wildcatters Head Coach J.B. Mauney was inducted into the Hall of Fame with the prestigious Ring of Honor for his tremendous contributions to bull riding, solidifying his place as one of the sport's greatest athletes. The ceremony also posthumously recognized Warren G. "Freckles" Brown, a rodeo icon who made history as the oldest athlete to win the RCA bull riding world title at age 41. Big Bucks, the legendary bull, was awarded the Brand of Honor for his championship caliber performances and record-breaking career.

Pioneering women’s rodeo athlete Pam Minick received the Jim Shoulders Lifetime Achievement Award for her groundbreaking work in both rodeo and broadcasting, while legendary roper Roy Cooper was honored with the Ty Murray Top Hand Award for his lasting impact on the sport. Priscila Palermo, wife of PBR World Finals champ Robson Palermo, earned the Sharon Shoulders Award for her unwavering support as a bull rider’s wife and her own inspiring triumphs. The night was filled with powerful stories, especially Priscila’s, where she opened up about her battles on the rodeo trail and in life.

The evening radiated with respect and camaraderie, as friends and family gathered for a beautiful night of food and celebration.

Up north in PBR Canada...
Perfect Tanner Eno Wins PBR Canada Touring Division Event in Kinsella, Alberta. Eno went a perfect 2-for-2 at the Kinsella Graveldome Bull-A-Rama, capturing his first win and climbing to No. 11 in the national standings.
