Austin Gamblers win sixth straight game to stop Arizona Ridge Riders’ streak at nine; Arizona still leads 2025 PBR Camping World Team Series standings
Nashville Stampede earn second-straight walk-off win with another Cody Jesus bottom of the fifth ride to close out Stampede Days.
By Taylor Riemersma
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – In a battle of PBR Teams top two teams, the red-hot Austin Gamblers (8-3) rose to the occasion on Sunday afternoon in Nashville and earned their sixth straight win by knocking off the Arizona Ridge Riders (342 – 166.75), ending Arizona’s nine-game win streak, one short of the league record. Despite Arizona’s early back-to-back rides by Everton Natan da Silva and Eduardo Aparecido, the Gamblers rattled off four consecutive rides for the victory, starting with Andrei Scoparo’s ride atop Pac Man for 81.25 points. Austin took the lead with rides by Vinicius Pinheiro Correa (86 points) and Dalton Kasel (87.75). Dener Barbosa rode his re-ride attempt on Lights Out for the near-perfect outing for the Gamblers. The Ridge Riders (9-2) still lead the PBR Camping World Team Series standings after four events.
The Nashville Stampede (4-7) earned its second dramatic walk-off win in as many days to close out its homestand with a 255.25-247.75 outing against the Missouri Thunder who fell to 5-6. Nashville’s early lead with rides by Alan de Souza on Fire Kat and Austin Richardson on NashVegas was wiped away with three straight rides by the Thunder, setting it all on the shoulders of Cody Jesus. Just as he did Saturday night, Jesus rose to the occasion and rode Ugly This for 88 points to clinch the victory.
Entering the matchup last in the standings, the Oklahoma Wildcatters pulled off a huge upset against the Texas Rattlers 175.75-89 to improve to 2-9. Texas fell to 7-4 with the loss. Josh Frost earned his third ride on the season atop 38 Special for Oklahoma’s early lead. Cort McFadden sealed the deal with a 90-point ride on Doze You Down, tying his second-highest career score; McFadden’s 46.5 rider score was a substantial three points above his bull counterpart. The win snapped Oklahoma’s five-game losing streak.
For the second time on the weekend, the New York Mavericks (3-8) earned a narrow-upset win, this time over the Kansas City Outlaws (6-5) 260.5-259.5. After Bob Mitchell put up 87 points on Ridin’ Salty, Leonardo Castro recorded a game-high 89.5 points. Trailing the Outlaws in the bottom of the fifth, the Mavericks Marco Rizzo outlasted Hoobastank for 84.25 points for the walk-off victory, Rizzo’s first career walk-off ride.
The Florida Freedom (7-4) clinched its sixth victory of the season 260.75-172.25 over the Carolina Cowboys inside Bridgestone Arena on Sunday. Alex Cerqueira was the initial rider to last eight, however, a re-ride was taken by Elzimar Jeremias later for 88.5 points on Mike’s Motive. Jeferson Silva rode Red Hot for 85 points while John Crimber closed out the game in the top of the fifth frame on Smokey for 87.25 points.
