CBS GAMES OF THE WEEK SPOTLIGHT:  Sunday’s CBS Games of the Week will feature two pivotal matchups: Florida Freedom vs. Kansas City Outlaws and Oklahoma Wildcatters vs. Missouri Thunder.

Florida enters the weekend with a 3-0 record in Austin and serious momentum, while Kansas City is trying to stop a skid that’s dropped them from second to fifth place in the league. Meanwhile, Missouri Thunder and the Wildcatters both need a spark — and Championship Sunday could provide just that. With playoff implications on the line, these battles are shaping up to be tone-setters for the second half of the season.

STRUGGLING SQUAD

The Oklahoma Wildcatters (4-10) have shown glimpses of potential but haven’t been able to string together wins, dropping four of their last five. Despite big-name anchors like Josh Frost and Cort McFadden, the Wildcatters have struggled with depth and execution late in games. With three matchups on tap this weekend, they’ll need breakout performances and momentum-building rides if they want to remain in contention for the final playoff spot.

REMATCH RECAP

Several familiar matchups return to the dirt in Springfield as riders aim to repeat — or rewrite — history. Ethan Winckler will rematch with Cookie after notching an 87.5-point ride on the bull in Austin, while Guilherme Valleiras will once again face Yo Mamma, a matchup that previously yielded 88.75 points. Daylon Swearingen looks to break a 1-1 tie with Walk Hard, and Mason Taylor hopes to reverse his World Finals buckoff against Rip. Eduardo Aparecido is back aboard Big Bills, the bull he conquered for 87.75 points at Gambler Days. Additional reunions include Daniel Keeping vs. Rock ‘n Roll (86.75 points in January), Austin Richardson vs. Constant Payne (2-for-2, including an 89.75-point ride), Lucas Divino vs. Punchy Pete (series tied 1-1), Grayson Cole vs. Socks In A Box (previously bucked off in 4.98 seconds), and Boudreaux Campbell vs. Air Marshall (86.25 points in Greensboro 2024). These rivalries add even more tension to a weekend already loaded with playoff stakes.
