Key Storylines for Gambler Days...
Gamblers on a heater
The Austin Gamblers (8-3) come into their homestand riding a six-game win streak, fresh off halting Arizona’s nine-game tear. Behind clutch rides from Andrei Scoparo, Vinicius Pinheiro Correa, Dalton Kasel and Dener Barbosa, Austin looks like the hottest team in the league and is hungry to defend home dirt inside the Moody Center.
Arizona still on top
Even with the loss in Nashville, the Arizona Ridge Riders (9-2) remain the No. 1 team in the standings. Everton Natan da Silva and Eduardo Aparecido continue to set the tone, but the Ridge Riders will need a rebound weekend to keep separation from Austin, Texas, and Florida.
Stampede finding late magic
The Nashville Stampede (4-7) enter Austin with back-to-back walk-off wins, both courtesy of Cody Jesus. With momentum finally in their corner, Nashville will try to turn those dramatic finishes into a more consistent push up the standings.
Wildcatters on the loose
The Oklahoma Wildcatters (2-9), last in the standings, pulled off their biggest win of the year in Nashville thanks to Cort “The Hammer” McFadden. His 90-point closer over the Texas Rattlers (7-4) snapped Oklahoma’s five-game skid and gave the Wildcatters a much-needed jolt heading into Austin. Texas, meanwhile, looks to rebound and keep pressure on the top tier.
