No. 1 Florida Freedom capture 21st win of season to open Rattler Days as Austin Gamblers remain within striking distance

Texas Rattlers remain undefeated at home, take sole possession of 3rd place in PBR Camping World Team Series.

By Taylor Riemersma

FORT WORTH, Texas – The No. 1 Florida Freedom (21-6) returned to their winning ways with a 352.5-172.25 win over the 9-18 Kansas City Outlaws while tallying one of two 90+ point rides over the course of an action-packed night at Dickies Arena.

The Texas Rattlers won again at home to stay undefeated at 10-0 in Fort Worth, while the surging Carolina Cowboys won for the eighth time in the last nine games on the opening night of Rattler Days.

For Florida, Thiago Salgado packed a punch out of the gate, lasting eight on Tigger for an even 90 points and his league-leading 21st ride of the season. Elizmar Jeremias bested I Hate You for 88.5 points before João Lucas Campos earned Florida’s third qualified ride with 87.5 on Magic Hunter. John Crimber recorded the Freedom’s fourth ride with 86.5 points against Tijuana Two-Step to seal the deal over Kansas City.

The Carolina Cowboys (14-13) startled the No. 3 Arizona Ridge Riders (17-10) with a 265.5-171.75 walk-off victory in Fort Worth Friday night. Cooper Davis tallied the first qualified ride with 84.25 atop Big Bills. In Carolina’s third out, Clay Guiton bested Dark Thoughts for 86.75 points, a game-high score. In the bottom of the fifth Derek Kolbabaconquered Feeds Red River for the walk-off win.

Coming down to the last ride, the Austin Gamblers (19-8) challenged a possible walk-off ride for the New York Mavericks (6-21) to win the challenge and game 175.25-85.25. Sage Steele Kimzey had the night’s second ride of 90+, earning 90.5 on the back of Short Fire to start the game. In the top of the third, Dener Barbosa put up 84.75 points against Velvet Revolver to ultimately take the win for Austin. After an 85.25-point ride by João Henrique Lucas on Margin of Error, Marco Rizzo took a re-ride attempt that he covered before the score was taken away by a successful Gamblers’ challenge.

The Texas Rattlers remained undefeated at home (10-0) after the first night of Rattler Days, improving to 18-9 by shutting out the 10-17 Oklahoma Wildcatters 176.25-0. Brady Fielder earned his eighth consecutive ride against Moving On, marked 89.5 points. Daniel Keeping put up 86.75 for Texas in the next out aboard Ugly This, but Fielder’s ride was all that was needed to down injury-ravaged Oklahoma. Fielder, 20-for-24 on the season, leads the league in ride percentage.

Despite an early advantage by the Missouri Thunder after the first out, the Nashville Stampede rode three bulls for a 256.25-87.75 victory. Nashville rose to 9-18 on the season as the Thunder fell to 11-16. Daniel Feitosa rode newly renamed Riff Ram for 86.25 points before Rogério Venâncio doubled the score with 86.25 on Smokey. Cody Jesusclinched the win with 83.75 against Rowdy. Missouri’s lone ride by Paulo Eduardo Rossetto on Smooth Violationprevented the shutout.
