STRUGGLING SQUAD

The Oklahoma Wildcatters (10-16) limp into Fort Worth after a brutal week. Eduardo Matos missed practice with injury, and Guilherme Valleiras suffered a broken leg in the practice pen, forcing Oklahoma to retool once again. Tate Pollmeier and Pokey Houghton were officially added to the roster this week, part of five total moves aimed at keeping the Wildcatters competitive down the stretch. With three matchups on the slate — capped by a Sunday showdown against the hometown Texas Rattlers — Dickies Arena will be center stage to see how the new-look squad holds up under pressure.

Elsewhere, the Kansas City Outlaws (9-17) look to keep their late-season spark alive after upsetting Arizona in New York last weekend. KC pulled off a trade with the Mavericks, sending Julio Cesar Marques to New York in exchange for Alison dos Santos. The move brings fresh blood to both lineups, and the Outlaws hope a dose of newcomer magic can carry them through a grueling three-game slate.

REMATCH RECAP

Friday night also brings a slate of familiar rivalries between riders and rank bulls. Andrew Alvidrez once posted his career-best 94 points aboard the legendary Man Hater, but the bull has owned their series with four buckoffs. Cody Jesus looks to extend his perfect record against Rowdy, while John Crimber — fighting through practice injuries this week — will try to stay flawless against Tijuana Two-Step. Koltin Hevalow and Peterbilt face off with their rivalry deadlocked at 1-1. Alongside him, Cooper Davis comes in hot after a 3-for-3 weekend in New York, finally looking fully past his back troubles and carrying momentum into Fort Worth.

REACHING NEW HEIGHTS

At the top of the standings, the Florida Freedom (20-6) continue to set the pace. By clinching their 20th win at Maverick Days, Florida now owns the single-season wins record outright, surpassing the marks set by the 2024 Kansas City Outlaws and 2023 Austin Gamblers. Powered by MVP frontrunners Thiago Salgado and Crimber — who continues to gut it out despite his own injuries — the Freedom hold a two-game cushion as the postseason approaches, looking every bit like the team to beat.
