Paige Murray provides important life lessons in new book, “Rosie’s Ranch Rescue”

Rosie’s Ranch Rescue is a beautifully written illustrated children’s book from Paige Murray, wife of nine-time world champion and “King of the Cowboys” Ty Murray.

In today’s world, we need more stories like this—stories that teach kids what courage really looks like. The heart of this book lies in its message: Sometimes courage means saddling up anyway, even when you’re scared to death. At some point, every one of us faces that choice, and Paige Murray captures it with warmth, sincerity, and a deep love for animals and the Western way of life.

In today’s world, we need more stories like this—stories that teach kids what courage really looks like. The heart of this book lies in its message: Sometimes courage means saddling up anyway, even when you’re scared to death. At some point, every one of us faces that choice, and Murray captures it with warmth, sincerity, and a deep love for animals and the Western way of life.

The narrative is simple yet powerful, making it a must-read for families who value compassion, resilience, and the enduring lessons of ranch life. If your child loves animals, or if your family treasures the Western lifestyle, this book will quickly become a favorite on your shelf.

Rosie’s Ranch Rescue follows Murray’s first book, Rosie’s Wild Ride: Chasing Big Dreams. Both are illustrated by fellow Texan Kristen Humphrey.

“I wanted to encourage kids to believe in themselves,” Paige said. “Too often we’re afraid of failing and don’t chase our dreams. But we can accomplish those dreams by discovering and displaying what makes each of us special.”

In that story, a little girl named Oakley and her Clydesdale face doubts and initial failure. But their resilient partnership brings a very happy ending.

Murray studied animal science at Clemson University with a concentration in equine business and had always loved to write.

Her second children’s book is more than just a story—it’s an invitation to talk with your children about bravery, kindness, and facing life’s challenges head-on. And because it is rooted in real experiences, it carries a depth and honesty that children will feel and parents will appreciate.

Rosie’s Ranch Rescue is about taking care of each other, and as the legendary John Wayne once said, “Courage is being scared to death but saddling up anyway.”

That same spirit defines the Midwest Outdoors Adaptability Foundation. What we do is ensure that able-bodied citizens of any age with mobility challenges—who do not qualify for military assistance—are not left behind. Today, no known insurance covers these life-changing pieces of equipment, and with a price tag of $25,000 each, they remain out of reach for those who need them most.

Like the message of Rosie’s Ranch Rescue, we must all stand together, take care of one another, and do the right thing.

Whether someone was born mobility challenged or faced an accident—be it in the arena, on the road, or while working the ranch—they deserve the freedom to live fully. At the Midwest Outdoors Adaptability Foundation, that’s our mission: to make sure men and women of all ages gain access to the independence they deserve.

Just as Paige Murray’s story reminds us, we believe in helping one another—together.
