The Kansas City Outlaws return home for their “playoffs before the playoffs”

No. 7 Outlaws, just above the cutline for the three-way play-in game to enter the Championship tournament in Las Vegas, need a strong performance on home dirt.

The stage is set for Outlaw Days, Stop No. 11 on the PBR Camping World Team Series. The Kansas City Outlaws return to the T-Mobile Center this weekend, Oct. 3–5, hoping to win and ensure they stay above the cutline for the dangerous three-way game among teams 8-10 with only one making the Championship tournament in Las Vegas.

The Outlaws’ three home games are akin to “the playoffs before the playoffs.” There will be urgency to win. But Kansas City arrives battered, bruised, and fighting through injuries, limping into its homestand with playoff implications growing heavier by the day.

For fans anywhere near Kansas City, this is a weekend you won’t want to miss. Three games, three chances for the Outlaws to prove that grit, toughness and home-field pride can still make a difference in the race toward Las Vegas.

Friday, Oct. 3 — Kansas City Outlaws vs. Carolina Cowboys

Outlaw Days begins Friday night with a clash against the Carolina Cowboys, who enter the weekend with a record of 15–14. The Outlaws, by comparison, sit at 10–19, ranking seventh in the league.

Carolina has been running with the gas pedal mashed to the floor, and its roster depth gives them a clear edge on paper. Before the pens are selected or the bull draws finalized, it’s difficult to know which riders will be matched up where, but looking strictly at momentum and horsepower, Carolina looks like the stronger squad. Prediction: Cowboys take it, three qualified rides to one.

Saturday, Oct. 4 — Kansas City Outlaws vs. Missouri Thunder

Saturday night delivers the in-state rivalry fans circle on their calendars: the Outlaws vs. the Missouri Thunder. Missouri enters this weekend ranked sixth in the league with a 12–17 record, while Kansas City holds the seventh spot at 10–19.

Rivalries in the Team Series never disappoint, and this one has the potential to be a coin flip. Kansas City’s roster is dealing with injuries, but it still carries at least two riders capable of putting up consistent scores. If those two deliver, it might be enough to edge the Thunder. Missouri, though, has shown before that it can get more than one or two scores when the right bulls fall their way. This matchup could swing either direction. Prediction: Too close to call — a true 50/50.

Sunday, Oct. 5 — Kansas City Outlaws vs. Texas Rattlers

Championship Sunday closes Outlaw Days with a marquee showdown: Kansas City vs. the Texas Rattlers, the 2023 PBR Camping World Team Series champions led by Cody Lambert.

Texas arrives sitting fourth in the standings with a strong 19–10 record. The Outlaws once again enter at 10–19, needing every possible win to keep their season alive.

The Rattlers bring proven firepower. Brady Fielder and Daniel Keeping have been steady anchors all season long. If Kansas City somehow puts three or even four rides on the board, it could make this one interesting and hand Texas a rare stumble. But realistically, the Rattlers’ balance and depth make them the favorite. Prediction: Texas 2–1.

Beyond the Dirt

The Midwest Outdoors Adaptability Foundation is carrying forward the same spirit of resilience seen in bull riding — but in a way that changes lives off the dirt. The foundation provides access to the Action Trackchair, a groundbreaking all-terrain wheelchair designed to give people with mobility challenges the freedom to experience the outdoors without limits.

But here’s the harsh truth: no insurance will cover these life-changing pieces of equipment, and their hefty $25,000 price tag puts them out of reach for the very people who need them most. That is why the Midwest Outdoors Adaptability Foundation exists — to bridge that gap and make the impossible possible. Because you can’t put a price on freedom, independence and living life to the fullest.

Whether it’s navigating rough pastures, rolling through wooded trails or simply enjoying time with family in places a standard wheelchair can’t reach, the Action Trackchair opens doors to a level of independence many thought was lost. It’s not just equipment — it’s freedom, dignity and the chance to live fully.

Just as PBR athletes push themselves to conquer challenges eight seconds at a time, the Midwest Outdoors Adaptability Foundation helps others overcome obstacles of their own, ensuring no one is left behind when it comes to the Western lifestyle and the outdoors.
