WHAT’S AT STAKE

Boston marks the first true pressure point of the 2026 title chase and PBR’s debut at TD Garden, where every out carries added weight. With refined tenth point scoring now in play and the first rider cut looming after New York, riders are no longer easing into the season as they jockey for position and protect early ground in the standings. With limited ticket inventory remaining, the TD Garden debut sets the stage for an electric atmosphere as each competitor chases the opportunity to become the first PBR event winner in Boston.

2026 UTB POINTS SYSTEM

The 2026 PBR World Champion will be crowned based on total Unleash The Beast points, with the tour retaining the same elite points structure as 2025 and reintroducing PBR Majors. Points earned outside UTB events, including international tours, are tallied as Velocity Global points, which also determine the Velocity Tour Champion and help fill future UTB draw spots.

Following the first four Unleash The Beast events, with the fourth stop taking place in New York City Jan. 9–11, the tour will implement its first rider cuts. Riders ranked No. 36–40 in the standings will be subject to being cut, with open spots filled first by those returning from injury exemptions and then by the leaders in the Velocity Global standings. Additional cuts will occur every two weeks as the field is gradually trimmed.

Bonus points are awarded for ride scores, seven points for 70–79.95, eight for 80–89.95, and nine for 90–99.95. Bonus points are not awarded if a rider declines a re ride due to a poor bull score.

REMATCH RECAP

Round 1 in Boston brings a slate of familiar foes back together as the TD Garden debut delivers seven notable rematches. Clay Guiton meets Blowhard again after covering the bull for 83 points in August 2025, while Everton Natan da Silva looks to remain perfect against Gaucho as the duo meets for the third time following an 84.75 point ride during Maverick Days.

Jose Vitor Leme and Drago renew a rivalry tied at one apiece after last meeting in Oklahoma City for 87.50 points. Koltin Hevalow draws Night Agent again after being bucked off in May 2025, while Marco Rizzo faces Project X for a second time after a quick trip earlier this year. Sage Steele Kimzey seeks redemption against Big Lean following a buckoff during the Eliminations round of the 2025 World Finals, and John Crimber squares off once more with Wild Card after being bucked off in April 2024.

From high profile bull rematches to Boston’s first buckle up for grabs, two nights inside TD Garden will deliver an electric start to 2026, with all the action streaming live on Paramount+.
