Something to Look Forward to in Boston
At the center of the conversation is José Vitor Leme, the three-time reigning PBR World Champion. In Beantown, he begins a pursuit no rider has ever completed—winning a fourth PBR world title.
Leme enters Boston still carrying the weight (or riding the momentum?) of what many regard as the greatest comeback in PBR history.
Last May at AT&T Stadium, the former Brazilian soccer star arrived at the PBR World Finals ranked 18th in the standings and left as the World Champion. During Finals, he went 8-for-8 against the rankest bulls on the planet. That performance didn’t just win a title—it reshaped the championship conversation heading into 2026.
Another milestone looms as well. Leme currently owns 88 career 90-point rides on the premier series, closing in on the all-time record of 94 held by the original Mr. 90 Points, Chris Shivers. If health and consistency align, 2026 could become a record-breaking season in more ways than one.
Boston will also welcome back one of the most compelling returns in recent memory. Kade Madsen, a breakout performer during the 2023 Team Series with two walk-off wins for the Missouri Thunder, stepped away from competition for two years to serve on a church mission trip. Now, after earning his way back by winning the Velocity Tour season opener in St. Louis, Madsen is back on the top tour, bringing one of the most meaningful storylines of the early season with him.
Adding further depth to the field is former world champion Daylon Swearingen, the 2022 PBR World Champion and Carolina Cowboy. With championship experience and proven big-event poise, Swearingen’s presence ensures Boston will feature not just rising talent, but riders who know exactly what it takes to win when the pressure is highest.
Boston precedes the annual tentpole event next weekend at Madison Square Garden (Jan 9-10). After PBR sold out all three days at the Garden last January, the Boston debut is tracking for a potential 2-day sellout. What a tribute to the sport’s growth and success.
How to Watch
If you can’t make it to Boston but still want to catch every out, every ride, and every critical moment, the easiest way to follow the action is through the new home of the PBR Unleash The Beast Series, Paramount+.
In my view, this is one of the strongest decisions the PBR has made in years. Outside of the original RidePass era, fans now know exactly where to find the premier series—every event, every ride, every weekend. With a centralized broadcast schedule and clear access, Paramount+ has streamlined how fans engage with the sport at its highest level.
Where to Watch
Fans can find complete broadcast details, including live air times, streaming options, and instructions on how to watch every out of the PBR Unleash The Beast Series by visiting the official PBR viewing hub HERE.
Beyond the dirt
What you see on television—experience in person from the stands—is only part of the story. This sport is far deeper than eight seconds on the clock. It’s our culture. It’s our way of life. It’s about being a cowboy and coming together to do the right thing simply because it’s the right thing to do.
That belief is why the Midwest Outdoors Adaptability Foundation exists.
You see, sometimes what happens off the dirt is just as powerful as what happens on it. Born with cerebral palsy, my own journey, shaped by the values of Western sports, led me to create the Midwest Outdoors Adaptability Foundation—an organization built on the simple belief that no one should be left behind.
The Midwest Outdoors Adaptability Foundation exists to restore access to the outdoors for people whose mobility has been changed by birth, injury, or illness. Through the use of the Action Trackchair—an all-terrain mobility device—we help individuals experience nature beyond sidewalks and doorways, whether hiking, fishing, or hunting. Serving civilians in Oklahoma and Arkansas who cannot afford this life-changing equipment, our mission is to bridge the gap and return freedom where it’s been lost. Life is too precious to watch from the sidelines. To learn more or find out how you can help give someone a hand up, visit www.moafoundation.org.
