Heading into the championship round, Mortensen was laser-focused to make the eight aboard Train Station, where to the Idaho fans dismay, the powerful bovine won this matchup, throwing Mortensen to the dirt after a mere 1.25 seconds.

For his 2-for-3 weekend, Mortensen netted 125 Velocity Global points and moved to No. 7 in the Velocity standings.

Velocity Global points contribute to the Velocity Global Standings and determine which new riders are added to the elite Unleash The Beast throughout the season. The Top 3 Velocity Global riders who have not already qualified are also invited to the PBR World Finals in May.

Home state cowboy Trace Redd (Malad, Idaho) claimed second place for the weekend.

Paired with Draw The Line in Round 1, the animal athlete was no match for Redd, scoring 86.90 points, securing the Round 1 win.  

Early on Saturday he was paired with TC, where he fell just short, hitting the dirt at 7.19 seconds.

Entering the final round for the weekend, the 20-year-old launched from the chutes aboard Bench Warrant. Despite his best efforts, the Idaho cowboy came off early, at 3.59 seconds.  

For his efforts, he collected 78 Velocity Global points and is now No. 8 in the Velocity standings.

Aaron Williams (Pismo Beach, California) captured third place in Nampa.

After conquering his Round 1 matchup against Boogey Woogey, turning in an 84.40-point ride, Williams secured second place for the opening round on Friday. 

With a determined look, the 29-year-old cowboy, erupted from the chutes aboard Iceman, where unfortunately, he came down early at 2.37 seconds.

For his weekend in Nampa, Williams earned 54 Velocity Global points and is now at No. 84 in the standings.

Oregon cowboy Shane Scott (Molalla, Oregon) finished fourth for the weekend.

In Round 1, he successfully rode Packing A Pistol for an 83.10-point score and fourth place in the round.

In the opening round on Saturday evening, he was paired with Dance Monkey, where unfortunately, the powerful bovine threw him to the dirt after 6.01 seconds.

Despite his Round 2 buckoff, he moved into the championship round.

Setting his sights towards the final round, he geared up for his match with Grey Goose, where to the Idaho crowd’s dismay, the athletic animal won the match up, throwing Scott to the dirt after only 2.18 seconds.

Scott collected 37 Velocity Global points and now sits at No. 72 in the Velocity standings.

Rounding out the Top 5 at the Ford Idaho Center was Justin Gardner (Castle Dale, Utah).

In Round 1, he launched from the chutes aboard Evil Eyes, however the bull threw the 29-year-old to the dirt in a mere 2.37 seconds.

Gardner was paired with Fire & Ice for Round 2. As Idaho fans cheered, Gardner made quick work of his bovine partner scoring 82.60 points. 

Focused on keeping the momentum, he was paired with Pinky in the championship round. Clinging to his bovine partner, he fell short – hitting the dirt after only 1.66 seconds.

For his weekend in Nampa, Gardner earned 35 Velocity Global points.

The talented bull riders of the PWVT will next head to Hampton, Virginia for PBR Hampton at Hampton Coliseum Feb. 6-7. In a double-up weekend, the PWVT will also be in Grand Forks, North Dakota, for the PBR Grand Forks at the Alerus Center on Feb. 6-7.
