Key Storylines
The 2026 season continues to heat up with Madison Square Garden hosting the second event of the new year and a landmark moment for the sport. The bulls will buck at the Garden for the 20th time, cementing the venue’s legacy as one of PBR’s most iconic stages, while also serving as the first stop to feature the Monster Energy Team Challenge woven into UTB action.
Callum Miller has flights booked and is hopeful to return in New York after sustaining a fractured jaw in Week 2 in Chicago. Pending clearance through concussion protocol, Miller is expected to be in the draw and will also compete for the Austin Gamblers in the Monster Energy Team Challenge, marking a notable comeback on one of the sport’s biggest stages.
Fresh off a win in Boston, Brady Fielder arrives in New York carrying momentum and a remarkable streak. With victories now in Manchester (2023), Chicago (2024) and Boston (2025), Fielder has claimed an event win at every stop he has competed in this season across his career. The question now is whether he can keep the run going in the Garden.
After his first ride back in three months resulted in a round win, Daylon Swearingen enters New York reenergized. Swearingen credits his new bride, Sierra, with helping him rediscover his rhythm and a renewed love for the game. After feeding off the East Coast energy in Boston, he is already looking forward to hearing his name announced at Madison Square Garden, a moment he says is unlike any other.
Another young gun rejoins the mix as Cort McFadden makes his return to UTB action. Hungry to get back since he was sidelined by injury during PBR Teams, McFadden has shown veteran-like patience in his comeback. He will have added support in New York, with his mom and sisters set to be in attendance.
Adding even more intrigue, two-time world champion Jess Lockwood returns to the Unleash The Beast tour and the Monster Energy Team Challenge after helping the Carolina Cowboys capture the PBR Teams Championship buckle in Las Vegas. After recovering from a broken collarbone, Lockwood is set for double duty in New York, bringing championship experience back into both the individual and team battles.
With individual standings tightening, family and momentum converging in the world’s most iconic arena and the Monster Energy Team Challenge debuting at Madison Square Garden, New York is primed to deliver another pivotal weekend in the race for the 2026 gold buckle.
