EVERETT, Wash. – The PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour (PWVT) returned to Everett, Washington where Andy Guzman (Oakdale, California) was unstoppable going 3-for-4 and securing his second PWVT event win of the 2026 season.
As the two nights in Everett began on Friday, the 23-year-old was paired with Fireball, for a resounding 84.8 points, to land in the No. 2 position on the event leaderboard. Despite a falter on his second bull that night, Smoke Show, he sailed into Saturday.
Early on Saturday he was paired with Old Yeller to turn in an impressive, round-winning 85.3-point ride and move into the final round of the weekend.
The two nights in Everett featured a slightly different format than a typical PWVT weekend. 20 cowboys had the opportunity to ride two bulls on Friday and two on Saturday, for a total of four rounds. The event champion was determined by the aggregate across all four rides.
As the talented animal athletes of the PBR showcased their supreme agility throughout the final night in Washington, the California cowboy was matched up with Screaming Polican. Once again, he made the whistle, scoring 82.1 points and securing the event win.
For his 3-for-4 weekend and first place finish, Guzman netted 143 Velocity Global points and is now sitting at No. 3 in the Velocity standings.
Velocity Global points contribute to the Velocity Global Standings and determine which new riders are added to the elite Unleash The Beast throughout the season. The Top 3 Velocity Global riders who have not already qualified are also invited to the PBR World Finals in May.
Macaulie Leather (Calliope, Australia) was hot on Guzmans’ heels in front of the crowd at Angel of the Winds Arena coming in second.
The 24-year-old cowboy who rides for the Missouri Thunder during the separate PBR Teams league, started the weekend in Everett perfect, first riding Whiskey Trip for 81.5 points for a fourth-place finish. His second match up for the evening was Go Getta Gangsta, where he again made the 8, scoring 83.9 points, and ended up fifth in the round overall.
Entering Saturday evening, Leather fell short aboard Nighty Night, hitting the dirt at 5.01 seconds.
He then set sights on the final round where, to the Washington crowd’s delight, Wound Up was no match for Leather’s athleticism. With the top score in the fourth round, a solid 85.1 points, Leather concluded his 3-for-4 weekend.
Leather collected 109 Velocity Global points for his efforts and is currently at No. 2 in the Velocity standings.
Idaho cowboy, Trace Redd (Malad, Idaho) finished the weekend in third place after going 2-for-4.
In the opening round for the weekend, the 20-year-old faltered when paired against Zyn God, hitting the dirt after a mere 1.97 seconds.
With a determined look, he gritted it out against his second ride of the night against Gator Drool, with a round winning 86.4 points.
In Saturdays Round 3, Redd once again put himself on the leaderboard, securing second place aboard Nickleback for 83.9 points.
Heading into the final round, Redd was determined to keep the momentum going, when paired with Dos Amigos. To the Washington crowd’s dismay, he was no match for the powerful bovine, coming down early, at 1.82 seconds.
Redd earned 82 Velocity Global points for his third-place finish on the leaderboard and moved to No. 6 in the Velocity standings.
California man, Eric Novoa (Vacaville, California) ended up fourth in Everett.
Despite a bumpy start to the weekend, bucking off of King Richard in his first matchup, Novoa pulled through on his second ride aboard Little Mike for 85.6 points, and a second-place finish in Round 1.
After Gate cut their dance short on Saturdays first round after 1.38 seconds, the 20-year-old, charged back in full force in the final round conquering Mavolious for 82.7 points.
For his 2-for-4 weekend in Everett, Novoa earned 57 Velocity Global points and now sits at No. 72 in the Velocity standings.
Rounding out the Top 5 at Angel Of The Winds Arena was Arizona rider, Jaxton Mortensen (Chino Valley, Arizona).
In Round 1, he launched from the chutes making quick work of Old Yeller. As Washington fans cheered, he made it to the buzzer, scoring 84.9 points, and securing a first-place finish in the round.
After sailing by his first match of the evening, Mortensen was then paired with Leather Face. Launching from the chutes and remaining in control, the 21-year-old turned in an 81.8-point ride.
From there, despite a valiant effort to stay aboard his Saturday night opponent, The Heat, he couldn’t convert, hitting the dirt after 2.59 seconds. He did not compete in the final round of the weekend.
Mortensen left Everett with 59 Velocity Global points and sits at No. 9 in the standings.
The talented bull riders of the Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour will next head to Reno, Nevada, for the PBR Reno at the Reno Events Center Feb. 20-21.
