TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Daylon Swearingen (Piffard, New York) recorded an epic, season-high 90.85-point ride in the Championship Round to win the PBR Florida State event title at Doak S. Campbell Stadium on Saturday night at Florida State University.

Swearingen won his first premier series event since 2022.

He improved from No. 30 to No. 15 and earned 188 UTB points for his 3-for-3 showcase during PBR’s only major of the season.

“It’s just one bull at a time. I took last weekend off and I feel really good. I’m blessed to be here doing what I love to do,” Swearingen said on the Paramount+ telecast.

“I’ve been working really hard to get back to where I used to be. I think in the short time, God has a plan and it’s all going to work out.”

Swearingen returned to the dirt Friday following a week of rest and rode his way to a third-place finish in Round 1, marked 88.20 points atop Turning Point.

The 2022 PBR World Champion followed it up in Round 2 with another conversion, fighting through a re-ride attempt before besting Cowboy Playboy for 87.35 points and assuming the top spot on the event leaderboard.

Using the second selection in Saturday’s Championship Round bull draft, he opted into a dance with UTZ BesTex Smokestack, which proved dividends, as Swearingen exited Florida State University with $87,800 in winnings and his first win in more than four years.

No. 1 John Crimber (Decatur, Texas) surpassed No. 2 Sage Steele Kimzey (Strong City, Oklahoma), who went 1-for-2 in Tallahassee, to earn the top spot in the world championship race courtesy of a third-place finish, now 27 points ahead of Kimzey.

Crimber claimed his second round win of the season via an 88.80-point conversion aboard Phe-Phe’s Soul Man on Friday night to get his weekend started in fiery fashion. The 20-year-old advanced to 2-for-2 in Round 2 while skyrocketing to the top of the event leaderboard after dancing with Chico for 88.55 points.

Dispatched in 4.97 seconds during his Round 3 dance with Sour Patch despite selecting the animal athlete with the first pick in the draft, Crimber ended the weekend 2-for-3 but took home 120 UTB points and $25,500 as the tour’s newest top-ranked rider.

Maverick Smith (Cabool, Missouri) parlayed an opening round ride on Bullistic (86.50 points) with an 88.30-point conversion aboard Heavy Load to earn the third pick in Saturday’s short round bull draft.

Opting into a dance with Lights Out, he continued the money bull’s trend of replicating short round success by recording a career-high 90.95 points, earning his first-ever round win courtesy of his career-first 90-point ride.

Smith netted 149.5 UTB points for his career-best second-place finish and improved from No. 22 to No. 14 with five regular season events remaining in the UTB campaign.

Felipe Furlan (Sales Oliveira, Brazil) made his way into the short round with just one score, an 87.10-point ride atop Turning Point, as several riders doctored out following Round 2.

Making the most of his additional opportunity, Furlan earned an electric, season-high 90.15 points on Red Demon while advancing to a perfect 3-for-3 in Championship Rounds this season.

Earning 69 UTB points for his fourth-place finish, Furlan exited the weekend ranked No. 22, up seven spots from No. 29.

Rounding out the Top 5, Paulo Eduardo Rossetto (Colorado, Brazil) earned fifth-place honors for the second-straight weekend, netting 63 UTB points and climbing from No. 6 to No. 4 in the world championship race.

Rossetto bested Tecovas Triple Aught for 87.25 points in Round 2 before earning his sixth Top 5 finish of the season, scored 88.45 points atop Ridin’ Dirty in the Championship Round.

Andy Guzman (Oakdale, California) recorded a career-high 88.65 points dancing with Hoka Hey to win Saturday’s second round.

The round win represented the first session-topping effort of the 23-year-old’s career and earned Guzman a career-best ninth-place finish.

Tchoupitoulas recorded the highest bull score of the two-day event. The animal athlete was marked 45 points in Round 1, sending Thiago Salgado to the dirt in 1.96 seconds.

Saturday’s Championship Round provided early fireworks, with the first three cowboys going the distance and five of the 12 riders overall recording a qualified ride.

Country music star Miranda Lambert performed following Saturday’s Championship Round to conclude the two-day celebration at Florida State University with an exclamation mark.
