ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Dalton Kasel (Muleshoe, Texas) recorded a season-high 92.75 points atop Pegasus to win Round 1 of the PBR Albuquerque Ty Murray Invitational at The Pit on Friday night.

The opening round victory represents Kasel’s third round win of the season, while his 92.75-point score stands as the second-best score of the 2026 Unleash The Beast (UTB) season.

Kasel earned 29 UTB points for the epic conversion and improved from No. 6 to No. 5.

One week after claiming his second event win of the season, Brady Fielder (Clermont, Australia) finished Round 1 in second place. No. 4 Fielder bested Ghost Face for 89.95 points to advance his ride streak to four-straight and earn 18 UTB points.

Claudio Montanha Jr. (Ribeirao dos Indios, Brazil) occupies the third spot on the event leaderboard ahead of Saturday’s second round. The Brazilian cowboy matched Cookie jump for jump, scored 89.90 points. Montanha netted 17 UTB points and is now ranked No. 27.

Julio Cesar Marques (Tatui, Brazil) made the most of a re-ride opportunity atop Hoobastank. Marques remained in control the entire way, marked 89.75 points for his 8-second effort. He took home 16 UTB points and improved to No. 10.

Jose Vitor Leme (Ribas do Rio Pardo, Brazil) went the distance aboard Crazy Sox for 89.65 points to snap his five-out buckoff streak as one of seven cowboys to record 89-plus-point rides Friday night.

Leme entered the weekend ranked No. 36 on the cut line bubble and gained 15 UTB points for his fifth-place finish in the opening round, advancing to the No. 33 spot.

No. 1 John Crimber (Decatur, Texas) bucked off Buck Nasty in 3.40 seconds Friday but remains 33 UTB points ahead of No. 2 Sage Steele Kimzey (Strong City, Oklahoma), who was also dispatched in Round 1.

Round 1 featured the opening game of Monster Energy Team Challenge Championship (METC) Semifinals competition, with two of the league’s four postseason qualifiers battling for a chance to compete at the preseason showcase’s Championship April 24 in Tacoma, Washington.

The (5-0) Missouri Thunder defeated the (3-2) Florida Freedom 83.65-0 courtesy of a dramatic walk-off conversion from Felipe Furlan during Extra Outs play.

Furlan was originally ruled short of the requisite 8, but upon review was granted a qualified ride, officially clinching his team the win.

The No. 1 Missouri Thunder are now primed to face the winner of the second 7-vs-7 Semifinals showdown between the No. 2 Austin Gamblers and No. 3 Kansas City Outlaws, set to take place April 17 in Billings, Montana.

Action for the PBR Albuquerque Ty Murray Invitational will continue with Round 2 on Saturday, March 28 at 6:45 p.m. MT before concluding with Round 3, immediately followed by the Championship Round, on Sunday, March 29, at 1:45 p.m. MT.

Day 2’s event coverage is set to begin on Paramount+ at 7 p.m. MT while Sunday’s Paramount+ slate begins at 2 p.m. MT.

This weekend’s Monster Energy Team Challenge Semifinals game will air on CBS Television Network on Sunday, March 29 at 10 a.m. MT.
