ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Keyshawn Whitehorse (McCracken Spring, Utah) dominated the competition at the PBR Albuquerque Ty Murray Invitational, winning his first event title of the 2026 Unleash The Beast (UTB) Sunday afternoon at The Pit with an epic walk-off 90-point ride.
Whitehorse, one of three riders to go 4-for-4 over three days in Albuquerque, was the only one to knock down three 90-point rides inside one of the loudest arenas on tour.
Fresh off capturing the Round 2 win Saturday night dancing with Magic Hunter (90.15 points), the Navajo Nation native returned to the chutes atop the leaderboard Sunday.
Whitehorse began his high-scoring Championship Sunday run with a Round 3-best, season-high 91.60 points aboard Freightliner Fever to earn the first pick in the Championship Round bull draft.
Opting into a head-to-head dance with Lights Out, Whitehorse put the exclamation mark on his flawless weekend, scored 90.75 points after tossing his helmet to the dirt and beginning his celebration by embracing his father on the dirt.
“I dreamt of this moment my entire life and now we’re on track for a gold buckle. This is a great steppingstone,” Whitehorse said on the Paramount+ telecast.
“I went through trials and errors this season getting hurt, but I knew no matter what, I was loved by my family – my mom, my dad, my brothers, my aunts, uncles, my fiancé most importantly. No matter what, they had my back and at the end of the day, I just have to give one hundred percent, and God will take care of the rest.”
The 28-year-old recorded the best four ride scores of his season in Albuquerque and took home an impactful 191 UTB points, improving from No. 20 to No. 9 in the world title race.
For Lights out, Whitehorse’s Albuquerque buckle was the sixth time this season he has partnered with a rider for an elite tour event win.
Claudio Montanha Jr. (Ribeirao dos Indios, Brazil) ended the weekend with a season-best second-place finish. The veteran became the first man to go 3-for-3 Sunday afternoon, scored 87.95 points aboard UTZ BesTex Smokestack in Round 3.
Montanha completed his flawless showcase with a season-best 90.20 points aboard Bowser to net runner-up honors and 120 UTB points, skyrocketing from No. 29 to No. 18.
Bob Mitchell (Steelville, Missouri) was the third and final cowboy to go 4-for-4 in Albuquerque. Mitchell punched his ticket to the short round with a fourth-straight conversion, marked 88.55 points in Round 3.
Exiting his fourth showdown of the weekend with another 8-second effort, this time atop Doze You Down (88.05 points), Mitchell earned a third-place finish, taking home 97 UTB points and climbing to the No. 17 rank.
Brady Fielder (Clermont, Australia) finished in fourth place Sunday – the Australian’s fourth Top 4 placement of the season.
Fielder was unable to go the distance atop Good Riddance during Round 3 but rebounded in thrilling fashion in Round 4, scoring a round-winning 91.15 points on Tigger as one of six riders to record a conversion in Sunday’s electric Championship Round.
Fielder earned 92 UTB points and remains ranked No. 4, now just 2.5 UTB points behind No. 3 Leandro Zampollo (Pirassununga, Brazil), who finished in sixth place and advanced to 7-for-8 in Championship Round competition courtesy of his 89.80-point ride on Chico.
Three-time PBR World Champion Jose Vitor Leme (Ribas do Rio Pardo, Brazil) bested Felix for 90.75 points in Round 3 but was unable to stay perfect in the fourth round, called for a touch on Eyes On Me at 5.75 seconds.
Leme rounded out the Top 5 with 268.35 aggregate points and a 3-for-4 weekend, advancing from No. 36 to No. 27 with just three regular season events remaining before the premier pack embraces the 2026 PBR World Finals: Unleash The Beast in Fort Worth, Texas.
No. 1 John Crimber (Decatur, Texas) capped off his 1-for-3 weekend with an 88.50-point conversion aboard Jameson in Round 3. Crimber sits 47 UTB points ahead of No. 2 Sage Steele Kimzey (Strong City, Oklahoma), who went 0-for-3 in New Mexico.
Three of this year’s World Championship contenders in Buck Nasty, Pegasus and Fire Zone each earned the YETI “Built for the Wild” Bull of the Event title for matching 46-point bull scores logged in Sunday’s Championship Round. The 2026 YETI Bull of the Year race featured three new leaders during the championship round with Pegasus emerging as the new No. 1 bull heading toward Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
PBR’s Unleash The Beast next bucks into Denny Sanford PREMIER Center in Sioux Falls for First PREMIER Bank PBR Sioux Falls April 10-12.
