Key Storylines
Little Rock arrives at a pivotal moment in the Unleash The Beast season, serving as the final proving ground before the tour rolls into the massive PBR Major at Florida State’s Doak S. Campbell Stadium next weekend — an event that will offer increased championship points and the kind of momentum that can reshape the gold buckle race overnight.
At the top of the standings, just 16 points separate the sport’s rising young star and its most decorated veteran. No. 2 John Crimber, the teenage phenom who continues to mature into a weekly contender, trails No. 1 Sage Steele Kimzey, the seven-time PRCA World Champion widely known around the locker room as “The Professor.” Experience versus youth has become one of the defining themes of the 2026 season as the two battle for control of the standings.
Meanwhile, Alex Cerqueira continues to embody one of the toughest stories on tour. The Brazilian rider once climbed into the chutes with what was essentially two broken legs, a reflection of the tough men he always admired growing up — a standard he continues to embody today. After returning to Brazil for surgery and rehabilitation following his rookie year, Cerqueira fought his way back to the sport’s biggest stage. Having left home at just 13 years old to chase his dream, that same grit has translated into steady results and the consistency that now has him ranked No. 6 in the world standings.
Another rider riding a wave of confidence is Andrew Alvidrez, who captured the event win in Bridgeport by the slimmest of margins — a victory decided by what many joked was no more than a fingernail. Alvidrez now arrives in Little Rock with momentum firmly on his side as he looks to continue his climb in the standings.
Speaking of fingernails, Cort McFadden brings another tough storyline to the weekend. After losing a fingernail inside the chutes in Bridgeport, the gritty Texan still managed to show out and now looks to claw his way into the Top 10 for the fourth consecutive event in Little Rock. With only nine fingernails left to work with, McFadden will have to claw that much harder.
And then there’s Dalton Kasel, the No. 3 rider in the world and a cowboy who has historically thrived in Arkansas. Kasel has already won the Little Rock event twice in his career and has added two event victories in 2026 alone. With momentum and history on his side, Kasel now arrives looking to make it three wins in Little Rock — and potentially his third event victory of the season.
