Key Storylines
Tallahassee is set to host one of the biggest weekends of the 2026 Unleash The Beast season as the tour bucks into Doak S. Campbell Stadium for a massive PBR Major under the lights.
One rider fans will be watching closely is Austin Richardson, who returns to the draw after being forced to sit out the Championship Round last weekend following a wreck in the long go Saturday night. The Texas cowboy delivered the best ride of the 2026 season Friday night, putting up a monster score before the unfortunate mishap ended his weekend early. Now back in the draw, Richardson heads to the beaches of Florida looking to build on that momentum and prove that performance was no fluke against the rankest bulls in the world.
At the top of the standings sits the man who seems most comfortable wearing the No. 1 next to his name. Sage Steele Kimzey continues to ride with the same calm, calculated precision that has defined his legendary career. Every time the seven-time PRCA World Champion cracks the 90-point mark, another watch gets added to the growing collection on his wrist — and if the season has shown anything so far, it’s that “The Professor” is far from done stacking them up.
Meanwhile, Leandro Zampollo continues to claw his way toward the top spot week in and week out. The Brazilian finished second last weekend in a strong showing that further cemented his place among the tour’s most dangerous riders. With momentum on his side and something to prove, Zampollo arrives in Tallahassee still hunting an event win.
Another rider gaining serious traction is Kase Hitt, who has been on a tear in recent weeks. Sitting right outside of the Top 35, Hitt appears to have kicked things into another gear after a brutal moment in Bridgeport when he took one square to the face. The wreck seemed to flip a switch mentally, giving the young cowboy a “nothing to lose” mindset that has translated into increasingly confident performances.
While fans won’t see a Monster Energy Team Challenge matchup during the Tallahassee stop, the entertainment factor will still be sky high. Country music superstars Jon Pardi and Miranda Lambert are set to headline the weekend’s concert festivities, bringing an added dose of star power to what is already shaping up to be one of the most electric events of the season.
With championship points, bragging rights and one of the most unique venues on the schedule all in play, Tallahassee promises a weekend where anything can happen.
