FRESNO, Cali. –After two action-packed nights inside Fresno, California’s Save Mart Center, Zane Cook (Fort Gibson, Oklahoma) secured his first event win of the 2026 PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour (PWVT) season.
The 32-year-old first put himself on the leaderboard in Round 1 on Friday night when he was paired with Captain, making the 8 for 84.9 points for a third-place finish.
Hoping to hit the gas as he entered Saturday night, Cook was paired with Up and Up. To the California crowds delight, he scored 84.4 points, and the Round 2 win.
Entering the final round for the weekend, the Oklahoma cowboy launched from the chutes aboard July. Unfortunately, he was no match for his powerful bovine partner, hitting the dirt at 2.58 seconds.
For his 2-for-3 weekend, Cook earned 125 Velocity Global points and moved to No. 12 in the Velocity standings.
Velocity Global points contribute to the Velocity Global Standings and determine which new riders are added to the elite Unleash The Beast throughout the season. The Top 3 Velocity Global riders who have not already qualified are also invited to the PBR World Finals in May.
Brody Robinson (Galax, Virginia) secured second place for the weekend after also going 2-for-3.
The 19-year-old first put himself on the leaderboard after securing seventh place in Round 1 with a 79.5-point ride aboard King Kong
Starting Saturday night aboard Hookie Monster, he was thrown to the dirt after a mere 1.8 seconds.
Robinson was laser-focused to make the eight aboard Iron Banana as he entered the championship round. Clinging to the powerful bovine, he made the whistle, scoring 83.7 points and securing the round win- the only man to successfully ride in the championship round.
For his efforts, he collected 83 Velocity Global points and is now the No. 8 man in the Velocity standings.
Marcus Mast (Middlebury, Indiana) captured third place in Fresno.
Standing on the dirt as the Round 1 winner on Friday night, Mast sailed into Saturday courtesy of his 86.9-point score in his matchup with Johnny Be Good.
With a determined look, the 31-year-old cowboy burst from the chutes aboard Screaming Polican in Round 2. To fans dismay, he was flung to the dirt early, earning no score.
Despite his Round 2 buck off, and not riding in the championship round, Mast earned 64 Velocity Global points and is now No. 19 in the Velocity standings.
Home state cowboy Eric Novoa (Vacaville, California) finished fourth for the weekend.
In Round 1, he was paired with Smooth Movin Train, resulting in an 85.1-point ride and second place finish in the round.
In Saturday evening’s Round 2, Preston’s Pistol won their matchup, throwing Novoa to the dirt after 2.96 seconds.
Like Mast, Novoa didn’t compete in the championship round, but still collected 39 Velocity Global points for his efforts in Frenso and moved to No. 23 in the Velocity Standings.
Rounding out the Top 5 at in Fresno was Braidy Randolph (Stephenville, Texas).
Randolph, who rides for the Texas Rattlers in the separate PBR Teams league, was paired with Californication for the first night at Save Mart Center. As fans cheered, he made quick work of his partner scoring 84.8 points and fourth place in the round.
Despite being bucked off in Round 2 and not competing in the championship round, Randolph’s Round 1 score was high enough to hold him on the leaderboard. He heads home from Fresno with 33 Velocity Global points and sits at No. 22 in the standings.
The talented bull riders of the PWVT will next head to Oakland, California, for PBR Oakland at Oakland Arena Apr. 11.
