The opening four rounds of the 2026 PBR World Finals inside historic Cowtown Coliseum delivered everything fans have come to expect from the toughest sport on Earth—electric rides, heartbreaking buckoffs, and championship pressure at the absolute highest level. But now, the sport’s biggest stage shifts from the smallest arena on the top tour to the bright lights of Dickies Arena, where the final five rounds of the World Finals will determine who leaves Fort Worth holding the coveted gold buckle, hoisting the legendary Robinson Cup, and cashing in on one of the richest prizes in Western sports.
PBR is paying out a record $3.3 million at World Finals – a fitting prize when the world’s top riders are matched against the world’s most talented bucking bulls in an eight-day championship.
With only two riders still a perfect 4-for-4—Luciano De Castro and Hudson Bolton—and No. 1 John Crimber shut out at Cowtown Coliseum, while No. 2 Brady Fielder and No. 3 Sage Kimzey show sporadic flashes of brilliance, the race for the 2026 PBR World Championship remains completely wide open entering the final stretch of the season.
Several more contenders sit just one ride behind them in the event aggregate, meaning every out from this point forward carries enormous implications in both the World Finals event title and the overall World Championship race.
That is what makes the move to Dickies Arena so significant.
This is where champions are crowned, seasons are defined and legacies are written.
Beginning Thursday night, May 14, and running through Championship Sunday on May 17, the final five go-rounds of the 2026 PBR World Finals will unfold inside one of the premier arenas in America. Each remaining go-round winner will earn $50,000, while the rider who conquers the nine-round aggregate will collect 500 world points and a massive payday—all while continuing the chase toward the $1 million bonus awarded to the 2026 PBR World Champion.
And as if the pressure surrounding the riders was not already intense enough, Thursday night’s fifth round will also feature one of the most anticipated bull riding performances of the entire season.
The Top 10 bulls in the YETI Bucking Bull of the Year standings are scheduled to compete inside Dickies Arena, creating a rank pen unlike anything fans will see all year long. With the bucking bull standings tighter than they have been at any point this season, every out matters just as much for the animal athletes chasing the YETI Bull of the Year title as it does for the riders attempting to conquer them.
If the opening four rounds were any indication, the final five may elevate the sport to another level entirely.

KEY MATCHUPS FOR ROUND 5
MATCHUP NO. 1 — CAN FIRE ZONE KEEP WYATT ROGERS SEARCHING FOR HIS FIRST RIDE?
Wyatt Rogers has struggled to find momentum so far at the 2026 PBR World Finals, entering Thursday night still searching for his first qualified ride of the event. Unfortunately for Rogers, things do not get any easier inside Dickies Arena when he nods his head aboard Fire Zone.
This is not just another great bucking bull.
Fire Zone currently sits firmly inside the Top 5 of the YETI Bucking Bull of the Year standings and has consistently proven himself against the very best riders in the world throughout the 2026 season.
Rogers is a tremendous competitor and more than capable of making me look foolish here, but on paper, this matchup heavily favors the bull. Fire Zone possesses elite timing, intensity, and enough power to create major problems for even the most seasoned veterans.
If Rogers can somehow flip the script and finally get on the board Thursday night, the score could climb quickly into the mid-90s. But heading into Round 5, the edge belongs to Fire Zone.
MATCHUP NO. 2 — CAN FAST EDDIE SURVIVE THE STORM NAMED RANSOM?
When Eduardo Aparecido climbs aboard Ransom on Thursday night, fans inside Dickies Arena may very well witness the most explosive matchup of the entire World Finals.
Ransom enters Round 5 ranked No. 2 in the YETI Bucking Bull of the Year race and is coming off what was, in my opinion, the rankest trip we have seen all season long during Round 2 of the World Finals. The judges marked him 47.15 points that night, and honestly, one could argue the score could have gone even higher.
As for “Fast Eddie,” this has not quite looked like the same Eduardo Aparecido we are accustomed to seeing this late in the season. But if there were ever a place to flip the switch and remind the world exactly who you are, the PBR World Finals would be the place to do it.
I do believe Aparecido can get Ransom started. I believe he can make the whistle. But if Ransom fires with the same intensity and violence he showed earlier this week, this matchup could produce one of the highest scores ever witnessed inside a PBR arena.
The edge still goes to Ransom, but if Aparecido survives the full eight seconds, prepare for something spectacular.
MATCHUP NO. 3 — PEGASUS AND ALEX CERQUEIRA COULD SHAKE DICKIES ARENA
Alex Cerqueira draws Pegasus in what may become one of the defining matchups of the 2026 World Finals.
Pegasus currently sits No. 1 in the YETI Bucking Bull of the Year race for a reason.
Elite speed. Violent kick. Incredible intensity. And yes, perhaps the best “bull toupee” in all of professional bull riding.
Cerqueira has been battling shoulder issues throughout the Finals, particularly struggling at times to fully regain control of his free arm. Against a bull with this much acceleration and timing, that becomes an enormous concern.
Still, Pegasus has proven he can be ridden.
Just ask 2022 PBR World Champion Daylon Swearingen, who dominated Pegasus for 94.95 points earlier this season in Tacoma during the final regular-season stop of the year.
If Cerqueira is healthy enough to stay square and in rhythm, this matchup absolutely has 90-point potential. But if Pegasus delivers another trip similar to the monstrous 46.80-point performance he produced during Round 2, it may once again be advantage bull.
And honestly, Thursday night feels like one of those nights.
MATCHUP NO. 4 — HUDSON BOLTON MAY BE RIDING TOWARD ANOTHER ROUND WIN
At some point, you stop calling it luck.
2025 Rookie of the Year Hudson Bolton is riding with confidence, rhythm, and momentum right now, and Thursday night’s matchup against Lights Out could position him for another huge score inside Dickies Arena.
Fans saw exactly what this bull was capable of earlier in the Finals when Sage Kimzey rode Lights Out for 92.60 points during Round 2. That trip proved one thing very clearly—if a rider does his job, Lights Out will absolutely give him a chance to win the round.
Bolton enters the second half of the World Finals a perfect 4-for-4 and looking every bit like a legitimate threat to leave Fort Worth with the Robinson Cup.
The way he is riding right now, there is no reason to believe he cannot move to 5-for-5 Thursday night.
In fact, this may be the matchup most likely to produce the winning score of Round 5.
MATCHUP NO. 5 — CAN LUCIANO DE CASTRO CONTINUE HIS HOT STREAK AND GO 14 STRAIGHT?
Few riders entering the second half of the 2026 PBR World Finals are riding with more confidence than Luciano De Castro.
Since the regular season came to a close and the World Finals began, De Castro has been absolutely locked in, covering 13 consecutive bulls and establishing himself as one of the hottest riders in the sport heading into Thursday night inside Dickies Arena.
Now he faces Black Harbor with an opportunity to make it 14 straight.
At this point, the Brazilian looks completely in sync with everything underneath him. Every move appears calm. Every jump feels anticipated. Every ride looks controlled.
Black Harbor is more than capable of ending the streak immediately, but the way De Castro is riding right now, it is difficult to pick against him. If he keeps the momentum rolling and matches Black Harbor move-for-move, expect another score flirting with the 90-point mark.
And if he gets there again, the pressure on the rest of the field only continues to grow.
OTHER MATCHUPS TO WATCH
The depth of Thursday night’s Round 5 draw is almost unbelievable. Brady Fielder draws Ghost Ship Warrior in a matchup that feels critical to keeping himself firmly in the World Championship conversation.
This is one of the more rider-friendly bulls in the pen, and historically riders who have covered him have typically been rewarded with strong scores. Expect Fielder to come out aggressive looking to restart momentum in the second half of the Finals.
Meanwhile, the cowboy Fielder is chasing, World No. 1 John Crimber faces Sucker Punch carrying the pressure of leading the world standings while also battling through the physical punishment that naturally comes with surviving four rounds of the PBR World Finals.
Crimber has looked battered, bruised, and determined all week long, but sometimes the most dangerous version of a rider is the one with absolutely nothing left to lose. If he settles in, trusts his fundamentals, and rides with confidence instead of urgency, this matchup could challenge for the Round 5 lead.
And then there is Sage Kimzey, trying to catch Fielder, against Top Dollar.
This bull is absolutely rideable, but he is also one of the strongest bulls in the entire pen—well known for ripping bull ropes free from riders’ hands through sheer power alone.
If Kimzey can keep his hand shut and capitalize on the short break between Cowtown Coliseum and Dickies Arena, he could make a serious run at another round victory Thursday night.
WHY DICKIES ARENA MATTERS
Because this is the finish line.
After an entire season of injuries, travel, momentum swings, and pressure-packed weekends, the final five rounds inside Dickies Arena will determine who earns the right to be called the best bull rider in the world.
This is where the 2026 PBR World Champion will be crowned, the Robinson Cup will be awarded, and where one rider’s life changes forever.

UPDATED YETI BUCKING BULL OF THE YEAR STANDINGSWith the final five rounds of the 2026 PBR World Finals set to begin inside Dickies Arena, the race for the YETI Bucking Bull of the Year title is every bit as intense as the battle for the gold buckle.
Pegasus currently leads the standings, but with bulls like Ransom, Fire Zone, and several others still scheduled to buck during the final weekend of the season, one trip could completely reshape the championship race.
And with the Top 10 bulls in the standings all scheduled to compete Thursday night during Round 5, fans inside Dickies Arena could very well witness one of the rankest collective pens of bucking bulls assembled all season long.
