Cool Whip

Biography

Cool Whip burst from the chute with a steady, undeniable presence, a bull whose consistency and athleticism made him one of the most dominant forces of his era. A fan favorite and rider’s riddle, he built a legacy defined by precision, power and an unshakable ability to win every matchup. And when riders tried to solve him, they often found themselves chasing something nearly impossible.

Owned by H.D. Page, Cool Whip’s career was marked by one of the most historic buckoff streaks in PBR history, dispatching 48 consecutive riders and recording nine outs of 46 points or higher. His defining moment came at the 2024 PBR World Finals, where he bucked off Claudio Montanha Jr. in 1.18 seconds to surpass the long-standing record held by Bushwacker, raising the bar for greatness in the sport. From 2022 through much of his career peak, he remained virtually untouchable, leaving world champions and top-ranked contenders, including then-No. 1 Brady Fielder, unable to reach the whistle.

Despite his dominance, Cool Whip was known for something rare — balance. His style was not built on chaos, but on timing, rhythm and repeatable excellence. He was deliberate, athletic and dependable, the kind of bull stock contractors admired and riders respected. And on the rare occasions when someone did make the whistle — including Sandro Batista’s 89.75-point ride in Sacramento — Cool Whip delivered the kind of performance that elevated both man and animal into something unforgettable.

Outside the arena, Cool Whip’s personality only deepened his legend. Known as a gentle giant, he loved attention, thrived on routine and carried a calm, almost dog-like demeanor. Former co-owner Staci Addison often called him “Sweetie Pie” and “Big Boy,” singing “You Are My Sunshine” before his outs — a quiet ritual that contrasted the wrecking force he became when the gate opened. His name came to represent not only dominance in competition, but heart.

Now remembered as one of the fans’ most beloved athletes, Cool Whip’s legacy stretches far beyond his records. Many who loved him like to believe that somewhere beyond the arena lights, he’s still doing what he did best — kicking up dirt, setting the standard and shining like the same ray of sunshine that made him impossible to forget.
