Biography

Lucas Divino might be quick with a joke, but when the gate cracks, there’s no mistaking his grit. The Nova Crixás, Brazil, native dropped out of school at 15 to work cattle and chase his dream of becoming a world-class bull rider. One year later, he climbed on his first bull — and by 16, he was cashing checks in local rodeos. That early success fueled a journey that’s taken him from Brazilian ranches to the biggest arenas in the world.

Since arriving in the United States in 2018, Divino has become one of the most battle-tested athletes in the sport, qualifying for six consecutive PBR World Finals and posting highlight rides like his career-best 92 points on Juju in Billings, Montana, in 2022. He’s fought through hip surgeries, broken ribs, and a collapsed lung, but his comeback story reached a peak in 2024, when he went a perfect 2-for-2 on Championship Sunday to help the Austin Gamblers capture their first-ever PBR Teams Championship.

A third-round pick in the inaugural PBR Teams Draft, Divino has been a key part of the Gamblers’ success, helping them to three straight top-five finishes, including back-to-back Regular-Season No. 1 Team honors before hoisting the 2024 Teams title.

Away from the dirt, Divino calls Decatur, Texas, home with his wife, Taylor, and their two sons. A family man with quiet faith and relentless drive, he spends his downtime ranching, hunting, and enjoying Brazilian barbecue at Fogo de Chão. His favorite movie is 8 Seconds — a fitting tribute for a cowboy who’s made a career out of them.
