NORFOLK, Va. – When the dust settled at the GOVX PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Norfolk, Joao Lucas Campos (Porto Feliz, Brazil) emerged victorious.

Hanging onto Mighty Mouse (Lucas Manning Bucking Bulls) for 82 points in the opening round, Campos punched his ticket to the championship round by covering Gaucho (LH Cattle Co/Bucking W Farms) for 84.5 points in Round 2.

Knowing he needed to make the 8 once again to take home the event title, the Brazilian stormed out the gate aboard Little Raging JT (Davis/Jerry Turtle) for 82 points.

The victory netted Campos 127.5 Velocity Global points.

Opening-round winner Michael Lane (Tazewell, Virginia) finished second.

With the crowd roaring for its home-state cowboy, Lane moved in perfect time with Little Rascal (Lucas Manning Bucking Bulls) for a round-winning 86 points in Round 1.

Despite bucking off Blood Moon (Lucas Manning Bucking Bulls) in 3.7 seconds in Round 2, Lane battled back to cover F-Bomb (Chicken Hill Buckin Bulls) for 87 points to win the final round.

The silver finish secured Lane 106 Velocity Global points.

The final spot on the podium belonged to Afonso Quintino (Sao Luis dos Montes Belos, Brazil).

Tasked with Cage Fight (Scott Burruss) in Round 1, Quintino was unable to hold the rope past 2.85 seconds.

However, the Brazilian cowboy skyrocketed up the leaderboard Saturday night, topping Hollywood (Chicken Hill Bucking Bulls) for a round-winning 86 points in Round 2 before riding Resistol (Scott Burruss) for 86.5 points in the championship round.

The third-place finish garnered Quintino 82 Velocity Global points.

Conner Halverson (Gordon, Nebraska) finished fourth.

The cornhusker cowboy rocketed out of the chutes atop Erner Permer (Chicken Hill Buckin Bulls) for 84.5 points in Round 1.

Halverson kept his momentum rolling in the second round, covering Frank the Tank (LH Cattle Co.) for 84.5 points, but he was ultimately bucked off by Cheese Touch (Scott Burruss) in 1.64 seconds in the final round to end his bid for the event title.

Halverson left Chartway Arena with 55 Velocity Global points.

Courtesy of a double entry, Quintino also placed fifth in Norfolk.

He hung onto Tux (Scott Burruss) for 79 points in Round 1 and JT Spot (Chicken Hill Bucking Bulls) for 73 points in Round 2.

Quintino was bucked off by Bone Digger (Lucas Manning Bucking Bulls) in 5.62 seconds in the championship round to close out his second entry.

The fifth-place finish earned Quintino an additional 34 Velocity Global points.

Velocity Global points contribute to the Velocity Global Standings and determine which new riders are added to the elite Unleash The Beast throughout the season. The Top 3 Velocity Global riders who have not already qualified are also invited to the PBR World Finals in May.

In the bull pen, DLM 122J (Lucas Manning Bucking Bulls) was marked 43.5 points for his 1.89-second buckoff of Campos, who was double-entered, in Round 1 to win the Bull of the Event title.

While the Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour bucked in Norfolk and Bridgeport, Connecticut, the elite Unleash The Beast takes over Fiserv Forum for PBR Milwaukee.
