ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Keyshawn Whitehorse (McCracken Spring, Utah) ignited the sold-out crowd at The Pit on Saturday night, capturing the Round 2 win at the PBR Albuquerque Ty Murray Invitational with a season-high 90.15 points.

The Pit played host to PBR’s Unleash The Beast (UTB) for a second-straight evening, but no moment was louder throughout the opening two nights of competition than when the Navajo Nation native knocked down the round’s top ride and vaulted to the top spot on the leaderboard.

Following his opening night conversion atop Take Down (89.40 points), Whitehorse went the distance aboard Magic Hunter in the second round to earn his first 90-point score of the season and now sits atop the scoreboard ahead of Championship Sunday’s slate.

“I remember watching this event when I was younger, seeing all the great bull riders coming up, the crowd being supportive and amazing, knowing Navajo Nation is nearby,” Whitehorse said from the dirt on the Paramount+ telecast. “I always wanted to be here, ride good here, and win here. This is one step.”

The 28-year-old netted 29 UTB points for his first round win of the season and is now ranked No. 16 in the world title race.

Brady Fielder (Clermont, Australia) stayed red-hot Saturday night, advancing his qualified ride streak to five courtesy of an 89-point ride on Peso. The Australian opened his weekend by besting Ghost Face for 89.95 points on Friday and now trails Whitehorse by .60 points in the event aggregate as one of eight riders who recorded 2-for-2 starts to the three-day, four-round showdown.

Fielder took home 18 UTB points and in the world standings remains 25.5 points behind No. 3 Leandro Zampollo (Pirassununga, Brazil), who occupies the fifth spot on the event leaderboard after besting Smokey for 86.45 points Saturday.

Three-time PBR World Champion Jose Vitor Leme (Ribas do Rio Pardo, Brazil) kept his productive streak going in Round 2. The Brazilian cowboy was scored 87.95 points on Mo Money after scoring big aboard Crazy Sox (89.65 points) during his opening out.

Leme earned 14 UTB points and continued to climb the Unleash The Beast standings, advancing to the No. 32 spot following his 2-for-2 start.

Claudio Montanha Jr. (Ribeirao dos Indios, Brazil) trails Leme by just .45 points on the event leaderboard, staying perfect through his first two attempts by topping Nachos for 87.25 points in Round 2.

No. 1 John Crimber (Decatur, Texas) fell to 0-for-2 on the weekend when he bucked off Bumpy in 5.67 seconds Saturday but remains 33 UTB points ahead of No. 2 Sage Steele Kimzey (Strong City, Oklahoma), who hit the dirt hard in a close 7.34 seconds, ditched by Benjamin Ranklin.

Action for the PBR Albuquerque Ty Murray Invitational will conclude with Round 3, immediately followed by the Championship Round, on Sunday, March 29, at 1:45 p.m. MT.

Championship Sunday’s event coverage is set to begin on Paramount+ at 2 p.m. MT.
