TACOMA, Wash. – 2022 PBR World Champion Daylon Swearingen (Piffard, New York) recorded a career-high and 2026 Unleash The Beast (UTB)-best 94.90 points aboard No. 1 Pegasus to win the Cooper Tires PBR Tacoma Saturday at Tacoma Dome.
“I can’t really put it into words, but I love bull riding and I love being here,” Swearingen said on the Paramount+ telecast.
“God – He helps me out. He’s an amazing healer. With my shoulder coming out a couple weeks ago, I took last weekend off, and it feels good to be here.”
Swearingen returned to Tacoma Dome Saturday and got right to work, scoring 88.45 points aboard Turning Point. He is now successful in nine of his last 11 attempts.
Later opting into a short round dance with the tour’s No. 1-ranked bovine, Pegasus, Swearingen trusted his gut and knocked his final attempt out of the park en route to earning a nearly perfect 49-point rider score that propelled him to his tour-high, personal-best 94.90 points.
Swearingen netted 138 UTB points and improved from No. 17 to No. 8 during the 18th and final regular season event of the 2026 UTB campaign.
The world’s best bull riders showed out in the Championship Round: Swearingen’s monster ride on Pegasus was one of five 90-point strikes in the short go – four marked 92 points or higher.
No. 2 Brady Fielder (Clermont, Australia) and No. 19 Hudson Bolton (Milan, Tennessee) turned in matching 268.30-point aggregate scores to tie for runner-up honors.
Fielder followed up his Round 1-winning 92.35-point ride on Sucker Punch Saturday night as the second man to improve to 2-for-2 on the weekend. The Australian matched First Class jump-for-jump en route to earning 83.75 points for his fifth-straight conversion and a return to the top spot on the event leaderboard.
Using his first overall selection in the championship round bull draft to challenge Hard Times, Fieler completed his flawless showcase with a 92.20-point strike.
Meanwhile, Bolton logged an 89.15-point effort atop Say When in Round 2 to punch his ticket to the short round, where he bested Tigger for a career-high 92.25 points.
Bolton gained 92 UTB points, while Fielder notched 98 UTB points and climbed to within 169.5 UTB points of No. 1 John Crimber (Decatur, Texas), who finished in tenth place courtesy of his 89-point conversion atop Level Up in Round 1.
Thiago Salgado (Naviraí, Brazil) finished fourth in Tacoma.
The Brazilian rider earned a favorable spot on the event leaderboard in Round 2, scored 88.20 points on Clyde. Exiting his head-to-head trip atop Eyes On Me with a career-high 92.05 points, Salgado solidified a Top 5 finish in thrilling fashion.
He netted 60.5 UTB points for his fourth-place finish.
With just one second remaining on the chute clock, Luciano De Castro (Guzolandia, Brazil) nodded his head. Matching Sucker Punch’s every move, the veteran recorded 90.50 points en route to becoming the first man to go 3-for-3 during Saturday’s championship round.
Castro began his productive showing by besting Wall Street TNT for 87.45 points and ended the weekend in fifth place.
He gained 53 UTB points as the fifth and final cowboy to go 3-for-3.
A mere 570.50 UTB points separate No. 10 Cort McFadden (Novice, Texas) from No. 1 Crimber in a dramatic world title race which portends to come to a thrilling climax during the 2026 PBR World Finals.
Buck Nasty earned the YETI “Built for the Wild” Bull of the Event title for bucking off Koltin Hevalow (McAlester, Oklahoma) in 2.10 seconds during the short round.
Following Saturday’s finalized regular season standings, the 40 highest-ranked available UTB riders earned a spot at next month’s 2026 PBR World Finals in Fort Worth, Texas (May 7-17).
