Fort Worth, Texas (April 30, 2026) – Premier Women’s Rodeo (PWR) today announced the “Road to the Championship Shoot Out,” a four-day, high-stakes competition set for December 17–20 at Cowtown Coliseum in Fort Worth, TX.

The event will feature the top 24 women’s rodeo athletes in the world competing in each of PWR’s three core disciplines: Barrel Racing, Breakaway Roping, and Team Roping. In addition, the event will also feature Goat Tying, Women’s Bronc and Bull Riding, and more.

The elite field in each discipline will include eight athletes each from the PWR’s Pro, Challenger, and Limited divisions, showcasing the depth of talent across all levels of women’s rodeo. The stakes are high: Sunday’s winners will automatically qualify for the 2027 PWR Championship, scheduled for May in Fort Worth, Texas.

PWR is built around three premier disciplines – Barrel Racing, Breakaway Roping, and Team Roping – with equal payouts across the three divisions. This structure creates a true championship platform for women in rodeo, expanding on the success of the Women’s Rodeo World Championship (WRWC).

The competition at Cowtown Coliseum will begin 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday with Sunday’s action starting at 2 p.m. CT. Tickets for the “Road to the Championship Shoot Out” will be on sale soon and can be purchased at cowtowncoliseum.com.

This announcement follows the recent news that Scripps Sports has entered into a multi-year broadcast partnership to bring PWR exclusively to E. W. Scripps Company’s national television networks, ION and Grit, beginning in May. As part of the partnership, in 2027 the original series “PWR: Road to the Championship” will debut on Grit, delivering in-depth coverage of the season’s most compelling storylines and competitions. The season will culminate with the 2027 PWR Championship, airing across both ION and Grit.
