Bolton went the distance aboard Lights Out for 91.30 points, the event leader’s best score within his perfect start, while improving to 11-for-13 all-time in World Finals competition.
“I’m really grateful the Lord’s blessed me the talent and ability and he’s kept me safe this whole World Finals. I’m just having fun, taking it one bull at a time. It’s been working out and I love it,” Bolton said on the Paramount+ telecast.
“I’m just riding one bull, forgetting about it and going to the next one. I’ll think about it after this World Finals, but I’m just having fun and riding one bull at a time.”
The 2025 PBR Rookie of the Year has bested 13 of his last 14 opponents and netted 32 UTB points for his third-place finish in Round 5, improving from No. 14 to No. 10.
No. 26 Eduardo Aparecido (Gouvelandia, Brazil) recorded an epic career-high 96.10-point ride atop No. 2 Ransom to win his first round of the season.
The electric 8-second effort was the third-highest ride score in World Finals history and included an epic 49.35-point rider score. Aparecido earned 59 UTB points.
Two outs earlier in the night, fellow countryman No. 6 Alex Cerqueira (Iguatemi, Brazil) also recorded a career-best strike, going the distance aboard No. 1 Pegasus for 94.35 points, which included a 46.30-point bull score from the world title race leader.
Ransom remained No. 2 in the YETI World Champion Bull campaign despite recording a rank 46.75-point bull score dancing with Aparecido, while Fire Zone jumped to the No. 3 rank after scoring 45.80 points by dispatching Wyatt Rogers (Hulbert, Oklahoma) to the dirt in 3.02 seconds. Pegasus leads Ransom by .05 points with one out remaining for each bull.
The title race tightened when No. 2 Brady Fielder (Clermont, Australia) survived the requisite 8 during a re-ride dance with Mr. Demon to earn an eighth-place finish in the round and 18 UTB points.
Fielder is now just 118.5 points behind a suddenly snake-bitten No. 1 John Crimber (Decatur, Texas), who fell to 0-for-5 at World Finals after hitting the dirt 5.14 seconds into his re-ride opportunity atop Walk Hard. No. 3 Sage Steele Kimzey(Strong City, Oklahoma) bucked off Top Dollar in 3.04 seconds.
No. 20 Maverick Smith (Cabool, Missouri) rode Electric Kitty for 83.40 points to climb within 38 points of No. 13 Marco Rizzo (Quitman, Georgia) in the 2026 PBR Rookie of the Year race.
Returning to the top of the event leaderboard, No. 12 Luciano De Castro (Guzolandia, Brazil) remains in second place as the only man with a 4-for-5 record. Castro’s historic ride streak came to an end at thirteen Thursday when Black Harbordispatched him in 3.15 seconds.
No. 9 Claudio Montanha Jr. (Ribeirao dos Indios, Brazil), No. 30 Lucas Divino (Nova Crixas, Brazil) and No. 24 Callum Miller (Warwick, Australia) remained third, fourth and fifth on the leaderboard, respectively, following unsuccessful efforts in Round 5.
No. 5 Paulo Eduardo Rossetto (Colorado, Brazil) and No. 35 Dener Barbosa (Paulo de Faria, Brazil) remain the only other cowboys with three ride scores on the board.
